you ever notice how the computer geeks
always do the coolest things with the
computers
well today I'm going to share a little
secret with you so that you can do
something that we do and what that is is
it allows us to take blu-ray movies or
any DVD really and put it in your
computer and then copy that file off the
DVD onto your hard drive so that you can
watch it anytime without having to have
the disk where does this come in handy
will say you're going on a business trip
you want to take some movies with you to
watch while you're on the plane
well you can actually take a few
different movies with you without having
to bring the actual dvds with you
how do you do it let me show you it's a
program called anydvd HD essentially
it's a program that allows you to rip
images of dvds or HD blu-ray dvds onto
your computer and then you combine that
with a little software called virtual
clonedrive it's from the same company
and that allows you to do what I'm
talking about
let me show you how it works first of
all you put a DVD into the computer
we've done that right now with a copy of
our show get connected you simply go
down and see down here in the little
tray we have the anydvd software loaded
and running there
you're right click and then you simply
say RIP to image by clicking on that
it's going to give me some settings that
allow me to rip that image to my
computer
let me give you a hint you can actually
go into the settings here if you feel a
bit more advanced and take out things
like that you don't need such as the
trailers or some of the extra features
that will sort of clear up some of the
extra space that you might need anyway
once you do this you simply say copy the
DVD and it will create an image of that
on the computer here we've done that
right there with the get connected show
put it on the computer now while you're
traveling and as I mentioned you can do
this with one show two shows even do 20
of your hard drives big enough and now
what I've done is rip that DVD to my
desktop
that's why I've decided to save it I
simply click on the copy of the DVD that
i want to watch while I'm traveling I
don't need the disc anymore
just click on Mount ritual clonedrive
and it's automatically going to start
the program and
let me start watching it again you can
do this with one DVD or 10 of them and
you can even do blu-ray dvds in
hd-quality it's called anydvd HD we're
using that together with the clone
program in order to allow you to take
your dvds on the road when you travel
time
