Inserting an audio file (e.g. a wav file) into Word 2007 and expecting it to convert to a playable embedded file in PDF won't work (at least I couldn't get it to work).

Instead you have to embed it as a Flash file (flash is a multi media format) using Adobe Acrobat. This is not ideal as each edit within Word means you'll have to repeat the process during PDF conversion.

However the flash player builtin to PDF is pretty good. Learn more about how to do this back at the website.

talk to you about how to embed audio
into your PDF ebook and all the text of

first thing i want to say is to shock
you
perhaps by saying you cannot just get a
wave file a bug into word 2007 which
will work fine in and then expected to

conversion nevermind i could talk about
what you see here but i'm just going to
show you those pretty pictures worth a
thousand words so let's go to a PDF
document that I prepared earlier funny
that and here is now i want to point out
that i'm in adobe acrobat pro and that's
important because that has all the
multimedia handling and and i'm in a
document and I think
mmm i'd like some audio in this blank
space here that's a bit too Spacey for
me
so what I do is I go tools multimedia
flashed all not all do you notice from
that menu and you get across hairs and
then basically drawing out the area that
you want to add your audio into then you
select some audio that you've already
recorded notice that the audio that i'm
going to insert is actually in Flash
format already
I'm not gonna handle converting to flash
in this particular youtube video I'm
going to do in the next one which is
handling video because it's the same
process anyway and also little rant here
I don't know why you're bothering to put
audio in anyway anyway because
everybody's moving to video even a firm
they're not really watching you they can
be listening and then if they are
watching you well you've got pictures in
addition to whatever you're trying to
explain that's why I do video rather
than audio anyway so you've located the
file that don't bother with any options
coming in and there it is
okay now what's nice about it you get
the kind of you to be arrow there to
entice people to play and when you click
on it it plays audio plays its the end
but you also have transport controls
plays stop rewind and then a kind of
move to exact point in the playback and
volume so pretty good and that's it
really is as simple as that
