hello everybody Kevin here and in this
short presentation i want to give you
some tips on how you can increase the
value of your PDF reports now this
multiplied all niches but it will
definitely apply to most now my opinion
a lot of people are not taking advantage
of everything that the PDF format offers
and is my mission to change that
so in this piece i'm going to show you
how you can add a video to a PDF report
before i do that i just want you to see
what you can do just by adding some
formatting adding some images and adding
some color to your PDF reports so this
is the PDF report that i put together
for this particular presentation now as
you can see i really didn't do any
research anything because they're still
all of the lorem ipsum text but what i
want you to notice is the formatting the
images and the colors let's put together
using Apple's pages program and if
you're not familiar pages is a
combination of word and publisher pages
has templates and this is one of the
templates and all I did was change the
colors and change the position of
certain objects and this is what i came
up with and I think this provides more
impact than a straight text document
what we were talking about adding video
I'm going to show you how to add video
to a PDF document and we're going to put
the video on the second page and we're
going to put it right here so i have
saved this page document as a PDF and I
have it open in adobe acrobat i'm going
to bring that up
right now so here it is this is that
same document as a PDF open an acrobat
and we said we're going to add a video
right here so there are a couple of ways
to do this we can go to tools multimedia
and choose the video tool or we can come
to this nav bar right here
multimedia video tool click it and
you'll get to cross hairs all you do is
click and drag where you want your video
to go and then you choose the video so
let's do that now there's a lot of stuff
here or my desktop and here's the video
click OK
and there's a video and why this blue
frame is around the video you can
position it with the arrow keys so you
can put it where you want it and now
let's take a look at this particular
video
all right click to activate let's click
and there you have it a video inside of
your PDF i also have a another PDF
document to show you so let's pull that
up right now
now this is a document that i use in my
offline business and it's entitled the
power of video marketing and what I do
is I talked about the different ways
that companies can use video marketing
and i also give examples so for instance
i talked about how you can demonstrate
what your product does and for that i
use the Blendtec video
I'm not going to play the whole video
but if you're not familiar with Blendtec
they make blenders and to prove to you
how strong these blenders are they blend
everything from golf balls two ipads two
iphones to sneakers basically anything
so when there they will blend at the
thing about the Blendtec videos if you
haven't seen them i'll suggest just
watching is that they're quirky but they
get the point across i also add a video
that's just a straight informational
video not quirky it's not meant to be
funny but it does in part the necessary
information and again I'll scrub through
it but I'm not gonna play the entire
thing camera
this combination job you can kind of get
the idea what they're talking about
i also talked about using video
testimonials now this video is about the
mission 1 electric motorcycle and all it
is is they invited a group of riders to
come write it and they want their
opinions so let's just play a little bit
of this and when you scrub through it a
little bit
again not gonna play the entire thing
and then I give an example of what not
to do this particular company this is a
video ad for a company that gives you a
race day experience it allows you to
race nascar respect cars so let's just
let's play this quickly script it a
little bit
and that is it
so I hope I accomplished what I wanted
to do and just to show you the power of
the PDF format and how you can add extra
value to your PDF reports I just a
couple of things that are good to know
also is that I'm sure you're aware that
the ipad in the iphone do not do flash
so you probably want to have your videos
in a mp4 format also depending on who
your customers are your customers might
not have high-speed internet depends on
where they are if they don't I suggest
you have two versions of the report one
that has the rich media and one that
doesn't and maybe you can have an area
where they can download any of the
videos that you would have in your
report
