how does it feel to have to film a
double and the sea in 10 I feel very
fortunate
and very lucky and it's fantastic to
come
all the way over here from London to
celebrate and everyone else
to you created both homes yeah what was
your reaction when you got me to the
phone calls
I you mean to create the films in the
first place or two
that they were going to be shown in
intuitive at that festival
well they've been rumors so it wasn't a
shock
but I was so pleased the basic them
where so I can see all the people that I
knew here as well I'm hope to making
them so isn't this a lovely trip
yen what is your artistic process like
in terms of when you get the script and
then to the final pop
product yet no berries in every film
and it was very different between these
two films as well cuz
for the sea I only came in when they
were outshot it
and I went off to a little competition
Island cuz it's set in ireland so I put
myself
in front of the sea have the film being
called to the sea
and I just walked every day that and
rate the music there
Salisbury specific process but for the
double I was writing it when Richard A
what he was writing the script because
he and I like to do that porn films that
we do together
so I'm about took or you know long while
to grow
but you know what to the satin you know
sort things out now
parent you know absorbs more went away
in rate it's yeah
and when is the process like between UN
Richard while you're developing the
music
um well in this case he kind of gave me
a bit a free reign at the beginning to
go often do whatever I wanted
and he had a song that he was going to
put in that which is written
in 1850 called the doc
by Schubert and he wanted to put it in
the film a one-point
and so I started writing music based on
some other courts with this
song and then Richard took out the song
from the film he change his mind
but we kept in these ideas to the song
is kind of
worked its way in that the doctor going
into into the school
so from I'm he impresses me and I you
know getting stuff back in many
said have further it is so it's quite
fluid her much of an influence do you
think music does have on the final
product and on
the mood of the story yeah huge I mean
one might not realize how much effect
has you know you come out that this is a
classic comedies or didn't notice to
music but
I think when it's not very good tonight
said it can really drag down film
so when the music is right and it's
written very well
and really goes into the heart
characters and polish their journey
it completely boosts what is already
there
yeah yes and how do you hope that
audiences respond to each of the two
films
while I
well I think that very different felt
one at the to double this
it's a Scott some comic aspects even
that's quite serious
and I hope and I hope people find it
very thoughtful
and very affecting at the same time the
sea is much more kind of
over the emotional so the hope there's
the people
a move to make cry at the end kinda
thing so that the different effects
but I hope thing get absorbed in
everything thank you so much
