In this video we will show you how to
convert scanned PDF documents
into Excel so you can access the data in them.
First open a scanned PDF file or image.
PDF2XL will inform you that the file you are
opening is scanned and that it will be
displayed in OCR mode.
OCR stands for optical
character recognition.
It's the technology that we use to
extract scanned data.
Next mark a table around the data you
would like to convert.
At the bottom of the screen you'll see a
preview of your data.
Scanned documents come in different
qualities, and PDF to Excel may not
recognize some of the text right away.
Which brings us to the next step
OCR Validation.
Click "OCR Validation" in order to
validate the data the OCR engine is uncertain about.
Suspected text will be displayed one after another.
Click accept if the OCR engine
correctly identified the data,
or if the OCR engine is mistaken, type
in the correct data
in the text box provided.
After running through OCR Validation
go to the convert tab and select convert.
And there you have it, your scanned PDF is
now an easy to edit
Excel spreadsheet.
