This video tutorial shows how to create a single barcode with caption. Then we focus on how to import data from an external CSV file (created with Microsoft Excel) in order to create multiple barcode image files at once. The barcodes can be exported as BMP, PNG, JPG, GIF, TIF, EPS (Encapsulated Postscript), PDF or WMF/EMF. Finally you learn how to print simple barcode labels.
Barcode Studio is advanced software for bar code creation. It supports all linear bar-codes, GS1 DataBar and 2D bar-codes like QR-Code and DataMatrix. The software is available for Windows , Mac OS X, Linux and UNIX.
Unique features like the built-in barcode quality estimator simplifies creation of high-quality bar code masters for pre-press applications or for printer-,
screen-, vector-image, raster-image and clipboard output. Barcodes can be exported as BMP, PNG, JPG, GIF, TIF, EPS (Encapsulated Postscript), PDF and WMF/EMF. In addition, Barcode Studio provides very efficient barcode label printing capabilities. With Barcode Studio you create barcodes
with perfect quality in no time!
This video provides a short overview
on how to use this barcode maker software.
First I will show you how to create a single barcode with captions.
Second we'll generate multiple barcodes
by importing the data from a CSV file.
And finally I'll show you how to print simple barcode labels.
After starting Barcode Studio click Request a free test licence!
Now you can test Barcode Studio
without restrictions for a limited time period.
The default bar code, a Code 128 symbol, is displayed.
In this area you can enter the barcode
data and adjust various barcode parameters.
Here on the right you can select the required barcode symbology.
Barcode Studio creates more than 100 different linear,
GS1, postal and 2D codes.
You can also choose from barcode templates
with pre-defined adjustments for compliance bar codes.
In the Status area important information
about the expected barcode quality is displayed.
Now let's create a barcode symbol encoding a 13-digit ISBN number.
First select ISBN13 from the list of barcode symbologies.
... and enter the ISBN number into the data field.
Then select the required output resolution.
Improve the barcode quality by checking Optimal Size.
This option ensures that Barcode Studio adjusts the module width
of the barcode to match your output resolution.
The Quality Watch informs you about the expected barcode quality.
Let's add captions above the barcode symbol.
First click on the tab Captions.
Then check Caption above and fill in the required ISBN data.
Finally, I export the barcode image for further processing.
You can choose between bitmap and vector based
formats like JPG, PNG, GIF or EPS.
To create multiple barcodes at once you can import
the barcode data from an external file.
We use a CSV file created with Microsoft Excel. It
contains columns for the barcode data and the caption.
To import the file switch to the Data List,
remove the existing data entry and click Import...
Enter the file name.
A preview of the data is displayed immediately.
Switch to the tab Data Mapping to assign the CSV file columns.
The column data should be encoded in the barcode,
the second column
of the CSV file is used as caption above the barcode.
Confirm with OK, the data list is populated immediately.
To export the barcode images click Export and enter the
destination path and the file format as required.
Start the export by clicking OK.
In the output directory you can see the generated barcode images.
To print simple barcode labels click on the tab labels.
Select the required label template or define a custom one.
The preview shows the expected output immediately.
Barcode Studio displays a warning
if for example a barcode is clipped.
To correct this adjust your barcode size
or choose another label template.
Now you can print the barcodes on labels.
Barcode Studio is the perfect solution for simple labeling.
