welcome to this video tutorial on
installing and setting up Redman server
and Redman fewer using an internet
connection behind a land or firewall
redmond server is a for the client is
initially set up if you're on a land and
you want to hijack a pc behind that land
or you're on the same IP address scheme
in that land other the net what we have
to do in order to do it if you're trying
to log into your home pc or business
computer outside of your land and your
away from menu and you want to be able
to take over the computer to be able
access that you're going to need to
create a virtual private network and
we're going to show you how to set that
up so the first thing we're going to
need to do if you don't already have it
I mean go right here to my webpage
www.cash visions dotnet just scroll on
down here and right here the redmond
fast secure affordable control when you
click on that and you can be able to go
to the downloads page and then write
down here grab their admin server 3.4
executive a file and on the computer
that you'll be viewing from which will
be the local computer that your laptop
or whatever when you're away and you
need to login to the client here then
you're going to need to download this
onto the local computer right now I'm
setting up for demonstration purposes
the right now we're going to be setting
up the redmond server on this computer
and then we're also going to be using
the same computer to set up the Ratman
viewer which we're gonna make believe
it's a the local computer we're gonna
make believe this is the remote computer
so the next thing I want you to do too
is you go to google type in hamachi to
search you should get the first login
here so you're going to logmein.com go
to the downloads page and click this and
download the hamachi executive file
ok so once that is done but I'm gonna
need you to do is a first thing that
we're going to do is I want you install
it on the client pc and we install the
are served 34 . executive file once you
get that
installed you're going to have a window
that's going to pop up right here this
is the settings for the redmond server
will run through this real quickly you
want to start it up automatically boot
or manually that's up to you
second option over here we're gonna
leave the default port settings at 4899
and the incoming connection dialog box
we're gonna leave this unchecked if this
is checked then the client pc that's
being hijacked is going to need to be
told to let that and so it's good for if
you have a client and they don't want
your logging in all the time they want
to be there then then you can check this
box that way they can want to get the
message pop up on your screen they can
allow access otherwise you don't want to
do that especially if you're away from
your computer you're here you're gonna
need this to automatically connect leave
this unchecked for the miscellaneous and
the IP filter we don't have to figure
that out and your English setting so
that's pretty much it you another thing
we have to do is we have to set up the
permissions on here and I like to use a
separate security which is the rabbit
security rather than your windows pc so
what we're going to do here we're going
to set up a user as you can see I
already have done that but you're going
to type in your username and create a
password for it and when you login from
the local pc into the client-server here
this is what you're gonna put in there
when it accepts it allow full access to
everything you want we don't have to go
into the details but we can just do that
to make it simple okay that's the basic
setup of the redmond server now the next
thing you're going to want you to do is
take hamachi here and I want you to
install that application and as soon as
it's finished installing you can
obviously put this on pause at the time
as soon as it's finished installing i'm
going to click this button is going to
power it on as soon as that occurs you
can see I already have an IP address
established when you first install
you're going to c 0 and it's going to
ask you it's going to basically default
to the computer name of all of the IP
address the IP address going to default
to the computer name so as you can see i
powered on and it's generated a a name
for me and an IP address now that i'm
using right
now the local computer so this is a
local computer and on my client pc this
is what we're going to be connecting to
but let's not worry about that right now
alright so you generate IP address is
going to default to the name of the
computer the next thing I want you to do
is to create a network and as you can
see I've already done that here this is
a network I've created so I want you to
create a network ID and create a
password for that network ID because
we're going to be installing hamachi on
the local computer and that local
computer is going to need that network
ID and password
alright once that's established and you
have that then the next thing that
you're going to need to do real quick is
just set up your firewall settings so
want you to go to your control panel and
scroll down and your windows firewall
and this Doug I very simple same thing
for XP
however on XP will show you just it's
like difference and what I'll need you
to do is scroll down make sure that the
redmond server three isn't here and
checked and then for these are going to
add a port and you're going to put in
Port 489 not the name I put radmin 49
tcp and you're going to do
ok and then do a separate one for UDP
and click ok alright as you can see here
i'll just show you the properties i have
this set up already for tcp and I have
this setup for the UDP ok and that's
that's what you want to do real quickly
on Advanced tab make sure how much is
checked on vista and then on XP there
should be it's more settings for this
click on it click on the more settings
on the Advanced tab and make sure you
click on ftp and remote desktop make
sure that they are checked and you can
check all the boxes if you like but just
definitely want to check those two
that's your firewall setup as for if
you're behind a router and you need to
set up you can look up more information
on port forwarding but you're going to
need to log into your router and you're
going to need to port forward a port
number for 899 to the client pc IP
address
ok which in this case is the one we're
setting this up on right now as the demo
so we need to find we need to note that
IP address is $ADDRESSNUM and we need to
port port forward UDP tcp 4899 or the
default all right
any port number you decide to set this
up with but you know we defaulted 4899
and then make sure that points to that
pc which would be the pc you're setting
up the server client on and and the
hamachi IP address by the next thing I
want you to do is on the local computer
now we're gonna make believe we're on a
local computer and we're going to
install the our view 34 this is the
viewer that's going to be on a local
computer so when you're away you're
gonna use this to access your home or
office computer that you install the
client the client on over here
ok and once you're done with that also
the same thing i want to install the
hamachi and as soon as you are done
installing hamachi the same thing you're
going to click this to power on going to
generate a new IP address and as you can
see I'm now on the physical local
computer and this is the remote
computers network ID and this is my
remote computer that I've connected to
so once you do that what I'm gonna need
you to do is you're going to need to
join an existing network and you're
going to type in the network that you
set up with the password that you set up
on the remote computer or the client
computer and once you do that you should
be able to i'm going to start on the
remote computer right now I'm going to
start my VPN tunnel using hamachi i'm
going to power it on and you're going to
see that this is going to change spread
and then it's going to change to green
that means that we've connected and
we've created a virtual Pete virtual
private network tunnel
ok and as you can see there's the IP
address of that tunnel of that remote
client computer and then the IP address
of that the viewing computer here
alright next thing you do is your going
to open up your admin viewer so when you
install the redmond viewer you should
get this window and we're going to put
this up over here and we're going to go
over to connection and make a new
connection and what I'm gonna need you
to do is you're going to enter the lobby
is going to make a name for it so you
can call it my pc my home pc my business
pc whatever you want to call it you're
going to enter the IP address of that I
that
client computer that you have the
redmond server installed on so this
would be the IP address
make sure your default port is set for
899 as you can see the properties of
this i already did this for you my pc
and here is the IP address of that
computer through the VPN ok and that's
it
once that is all set up all you do is
click on my pc or the connection that
you just created you type in your
username and the password that you
created for that user name and you
hijack the pc and it's that simple
so I thank you very much for taking the
time checking this out
don't forget if you have any more
questions you need to contact me need to
know any more information about such you
