#1 New version of miniMRP - Bill of materials software
New version of miniMRP will be released early in 2012
A few users have expressed concerns, that the new version may introduce too many changes making it difficult to implement.
This video will demonstrate that we've kept the same basic look and feel of the program, but will also introduce some of the new navigation features which we hope you'll find easier to use.
Over the next few months we'll post more videos showing the various functions within the miniMRP software.
If you're not using miniMRP yet you can get a free trial from the website at

please bookmark this web page because
we'll be adding lots more videos
eventually building up a library of
instructional and support material
with short video showing each modular
process within the many MRP program
this is the first video in the series
just a quick two minute introduction
which will probably be of more interest
to users a previous versions of the many
MRP software
a few users have expressed concerns that
the new version may introduce too many
changes making it difficult to implement
this video will demonstrate that we've
kept the same basic look and feel of the
program
but will also introduce some other new
navigation features which we hope you'll
find easier to use
when using the current version at many
MRP one of the first things you notice
is this outlook style menu here on the
left side of the program window
it's been there since version 1
it works
may switch to the new version you'll be
relieved to see that the new version has
an almost identical menu
the previous version if you selected in
item from your inventory
you'd see these two times here at the
top allowing you to switch between the
two views
at this point everything looks the same
but if we carry on and do something else
you'll see that another tab appears
I can start a new task without closing
the previous one
using these times you can instantly
switch back to any of your previous
tasks allowing you to do more things at
once
from a technical point of view the
number of things you can do and once
with only be limited by the power of
your computer
hundreds up tasks perhaps
so we decided that 10 simultaneous tasks
is enough for anyone
but if any power users really want to do
more things at once please let us know
and we'll maybe remove or increase this
limitation
with all these times open you can of
course close them again and any order
just before we end this video let me
show you one more thing
this is probably the number-one support
topic
where do you see the build cost
assemblies
in previous versions you had to open the
Assembly's parts list
but in this version it's right here
word ought to be
if the cost price any component is
changed the build cost from all affected
assemblies will be instantly updated in
this column
which you can still go back and see it
the old way if you want
for example if you wanted to quickly
calculate the build cost for the larger
quantity of assemblies
this is the view of the multilevel bill
of materials but we're not going to go
into any more detail in this video
will soon add another video showing the
bar manager in more detail
