GPS geotagging Salisbury Cathedral with a GeoPic II and KUSO EXIF Viewer

A short guide to geotagging with a GeoPic, II with an example photo taken at Salisbury Cathedral. Geo tagging, more often called 'geotagging' is the process of adding geotags to your photos. Geo tags, or 'geotags' are extra tags of data which include latitude longitude and altitude and together define a specific location.

Here we use the GeoPic II with a Nikon D200 (you can also use it with a D300 D700 D2HS D2X D2XS D3 Fuji S5 Pro). This great geotagger will geotag your pictures direct on the Nikon camera and straight into the EXIF data. Once the tags are there you can use your favourite photo managing software, for example here we use the (free) KUSO EXIF Viewer to use and view the tags. You can also use Nikon ViewNX, Adobe Photoshop, or other software like Opanda, Apple Preview and JetPhoto Studio -- in fact most photography software will work with geotags these days!
