Framing : How to Frame a Canvas Print

hi today i'm going to show you how to
frame a canvas print now canvas print is
a print paper print that's been adhered
to a piece of canvas
that's normally comes already stretched
for you on like this one on stretcher
bar
I've already cut and build a frame for
this one and I'm going to show you how
you attach canvas print into the frame
we're going to use is we're going to use
these things called offset clips
they have a hole in him put a screw
so this is to hold the canvas into the
frame
general I probably would put oh and
offset clip every six inches or so
depending upon how big it gets and that
should be plenty
i'm using my drill i'm going to put
screws all the way around
okay now your canvas is very secure with
these offset clips
now all we have to do is finish the back
and a wire and will be done again i use
double stick tape
now i'm going to place the dust cover
over the back of the picture and I'm
going to touch each side and work my way
out to the corners now I'm going to trim
the excess off
ok now i want to be sure and cut a nice
breathing hole for your canvas
it can be any hole just be careful not
to punch your blade through too far
you might reach your canvas prints
you just want your canvas to be able to
breathe if it had any changes in
temperature or humidity within the room
you don't want it to have a different
temperature with inside behind this
paper in front of the canvas you can
make the canvas get a little wavy sag a
little bit
it's just ensures that your canvas is
going to stay looking nice for years to
come
the next thing the last thing that we
want to do is attach the wire to the
back of it first thing I want to do is I
want to kind of measure down about a
third of the way from the top of the
picture
it should be about three and a half
inches
now the next thing you want to do when
you make your wire is you want to attach
these little hooks with the screw get a
piece of wire and I want to run it
through one side
we're going to put these little sleeves
this is a cable system wire you could
also use a twist wire
ok now we're going to cut the excess
wire off
