Serial Control of Ham Radio Antenna Switch

In this video I show how to interface a serial interface board with relays to my ham radio antenna switch.

Years ago I used a parallel port interface with relays. But with Win 7 64 bit, I have not been able to get the parallel port to work for non-printer applications.

I found this serial interface, R81DPDT, with relays from National Control Devices, not cheap, but it works.

I use TRX-Manager radio control and logging software. It is able to send serial commands to the serial board which controls the relays. I send HEX commands to the interface board. The relays are wired across the terminals on the rear of my Ameritron antenna switch.
