Getting started. Taking a 1992 Dodge 1 ton extended cab pickup. Lengthing and widening front fenders. Building a new 3 inch wider nose piece. Cutting body in half front to rear and widening it 4 inches. Lifting it on to dodge truck frame and getting it set where it will stay.

all right i want to show you some of the
track that I've been building
there's kind of a teaser what we're
looking at started out with in 1992
dodge extended cab one-ton pickup and
drive down to school here to the summer
class one year to get started on this
what I'm doing is tearing the front end
off the truck to head off and went to
the body off and get to the basic frame
frame is what I'm mainly after here
ok once they hit it off and bringing in
the willies parts
these are the front fenders kind of
mocking it up around the front of the
truck to see how things are going to
line up first thing seen was I need some
bigger will openings so I split them in
half
i'm going to add two inches into the
middle of the fender and I've got one
site act and the other side click code
on a couple pictures of that on the
inside i decided to make them about two
inches wider also so I'm making two
pieces put them together using my shot
shrinker
give me the curve that I want and attack
these onto the inner fender and that
will make it two inches wider and two
inches longer on the fender and needed
this extra with because of the wider
wheel base then what a Willy's is is the
other suspender getting clicquot
together and walled up
ok here's a look at the body it was a 37
four-door sedan body that I had what I'm
going to do is lift this up and put it
up on the truck or the chassis and kind
of mock things up see what I'm gonna
have to do and I decided I'm gonna I'm
gonna have to also white and everything
as far as the front
no section and I'm gonna have to cut the
car in half and widen your in making
some patterns off the original nose
laying them on some sheet metal cutting
out the pieces
there's a half of one cut out using the
shrinker
I've been in the sheet metal brake and
i'm using the shrinker shrunk curve the
round match the fender held it up
against fender and things don't quite
line up so there's the tape line
what I'm going to do this picture is
taking my camera dolly and moving that
edge down
so now
I got a nice body line they're not take
much to all together look good both in
this together
I decided three inches wider is what I'm
gonna go on the nose section
this is just slowly putting these pieces
together
there's a lower piece underneath the
grill that I have built at that
click OK in and then I got it all
everything welded up
I use a kid Walter on my wells here now
i can see that i need to widen the body
also
so I'm going to cut it down the middle
and around the rough reason why don't
cut down the center of the the roof is
because it's hard to do any metal work
trying to reach out as turn in the
middle that rough
this way i can reach in closer the
reason why i widen it
I've seen it was a 44 pick up on a
one-time chassis years ago and they left
the small little body and they make me
make these great big wide fenders that
to fill up to get wide enough to cover
the tires and I just didn't like that so
i'm going to do a little bit everywhere
it puts everything into proportion and
then you know a little here a little
there
what i'm doing here is adding onto the
roof and I white and four inches so i
put about a three inch piece on that
roof section
you'll see here in a minute skin the
window area and I played that roof over
the top of it and welded the one inside
weld on the rough camera dolly took care
that not only have to make the one world
on the outside
what I'll do is click all that down and
get set where it needs to be
just a couple pictures different angles
of it
the other side off click go down and
come in from the underneath side and
draw up so I know I'm right close to the
edge of my idea with the clothes then
I'll pull it off and I'll cut around the
cliq hose and put it down inserts and
it's gonna be a butt weld this picture
shows that i've got the left side and
weld it up
tak well click was gone and looks like
it's getting held up pretty good
the world across the front also and here
is the other side is now welded up and
finished
I've got my top that to get it ok Frank
frame words in the front of sticking way
up to far so I'm going to cut them off
and leaving enough that it still holds
the front suspension and sway bar now my
friend will fit without too much
problems up there
it's looking a lot better now
I decided that the motor wasn't going to
be a problem so I jerked it out so now
i'm just back to the stock frame with
nothing else there
let's build the building and it will
deal with the motor later and body we
got that moving into position and
lifting it up on a mock this all up now
it needs to be in my next group of
pictures in my next video you will see
how we build all amounts of stuff to
hold that the frame so i hope you join
