hey what's up everyone John the key care
and today I'm going to be showing you
one of the ways to recover a SD memory
card here that has been corrupt messed
up accidentally formatted files
accidentally erased on here
and so will be using a program a free
program that simple to use
it's not very powerful but it's easy to
use and it does work for the most part
and this program is called recover
re cuva right by . form and so it's free
program and they do have paid versions
here so i click on download then you
click on file hippo and it takes you to
another website that's hosting the file
so it's going to go ahead and download
I'll just go ahead and click on it
without run to install the free and then
yeah that will run the program now
now
we're going to answer to cart sometimes
when you have messed up
SD cards it's going to ask you a you
need to format or initialize this SD
card this memory part i know it's very
scary but you're going to have to format
it by but there's a specific way to form
I've already done it on here I'm sorry I
wouldn't be getting this error to say i
need to format this disc but i'm just
going to go ahead and show you when you
click on format
what's going to pop up okay so this is
what's gonna pop up
this is my memory card here and i'm
going to click the four minute
this is what pops up after you click on
format it right
it's very important that this quick
format is checked
right because the quick format doesn't
really wipe the card right because a
real format will actually scrub every
megabyte of space on this card it will
right over
we don't want that you want to click on
it I know this is a very scary situation
right
I wish there was an easier way not
having the format but the program can
scan it until the card is readable
so when you do a quick format you're not
really erasing the data that's on here
really you're erasing the table of
contents right so there's a table of
contents that says this card has all
these files on it and this is where it's
located so that the computer can just
find the file that it
go right to it read it and then
presented to you that user so doing a
quick format just erases the table of
contents right
the data is still on there until you
write new data to it then it's really
gone
so the person who took all the photos
they didn't use his card ever since
so hopefully most likely it will find
the most recent files
so anyways we're going to click on start
I've already done it I'm not going to do
it again we're going to click on start
it's gonna take a couple of minutes to
actually form at once that's done and
you'll have you'll end up with this
blank card here
very scary I know right get a blank card
here we can now run the recovery
software so I'm no wizard here so click
on next and if this is a memory card
that has many different things on it
then you can click on other and we'll
try to scan for everything but it just
takes a ridiculously long time
I know that this camera of this card
game from a camera and the person's just
trying to recover photos
so that's why I'm only doing pictures so
click on next and then it's asking you
where's the files located doesn't know
yet that we have a memory card here so
i'm gonna choose in a specific location
going to hit browse and my removable
disk that's my memory card reader here
and choose that and then I'm going to do
the deep scan now you will find files
that you probably deleted long time ago
like I said it doesn't know actually
erase files until you actually right
over it so you're going to get files
that are the most reason and then you're
going to get files that are very old and
then you're going to get like a terrible
mangled files
you know maybe that will show up on here
but i'll show you what that is right
so i'm going to go ahead and click start
and this is a very time-consuming
process is going to take a very long
time
computer says a couple of hours
so be prepared
alright so the scan is complete over
here on the advanced mode so when you
finish the scan it actually shows you
all thumbnails then over on the top
there says a advanced mode and click on
that only because there's so many files
that i want to be able to select all of
them and recover all of these files here
so you can also click and choose which
files you want to recover but i don't
know which one's a that need to be
covered some miss recover everything so
i clicked on this select all button here
and then i'll click on recover
it's going to ask me where do I want to
recover it i'll just put on the desktop
make a new folder called it recover and
then click on ok and so this process is
basically copying all the files
that's on the thumb drive onto the
folder and for this particular card i
don't know how many files on there how
big the part is but it took about
it's going to take about 20 minutes
alright so as you can see here I have
the folder and it's pretty much
recovering all the files and that's
pretty much it for this programme it
worked out for this particular situation
and hope it works out for you
thanks for watching our calculators
