alright so we're going to jump in to
premiere pro right now now like i
mentioned before these settings will
work in any application final cut pro
I movie Sony Vegas you know as long as
you have some kind of video editing
program should have something similar so
I'm Premiere Pro will go to file export
media or command + commander control now
that we're in the dialog box for
exporting we are going to resize this
real fast as you can see here all the
settings here and notice this particular
tab right here video
it may be labeled something different in
your application
so you'll probably see something like
bear ate settings or target bear ate
something like that and that's what we
really want to focus on here for
exporting to a DVD or blu-ray especially
so right now i have it set at ten
now we could go ahead
and use you know premier pros at default
you know HDTV 720p or whatever but I
find that to be flawed sometimes
depending on your footage
depending on what you're working with so
the main thing i said like i said is
using their rate and making sure that
it's high enough so you can get the high
enough quality that you want when you're
burning it for use on the TV or even a
projector so you know I have it at 10
right now but ideally you want to make
it as high as you want it to be and now
the higher you make it you know you'll
see that the increased both of them to
be equal here you'll see that the file
size will be larger and larger so for TV
or you know DVD viewing I probably
around 21 megabits per second and that
for again for your beer rate and you can
even you know if your editor allows this
you can make it you know to pass one
pass
I don't leave it at one pass that i find
it fine and if you're going to go a
blu-ray i would say you know just crank
it all the way up
you know maybe make it 41 or whatever
the maximum value is on your editor
you go ahead and crank it up like so but
for now we'll just go and leave it out
let's say
30-3 ish just cause 2 random men it was
really no particular order for doing
this
now the second thing that you want to
make sure that checked here if you have
it or if you're just using premiere pro
especially is maximum render quality you
want that so it will take a little
longer but it will do you wonders
another thing you want to make sure is
that you have your aspect ratio at
sixteen by nine
unless if you're one of the rare people
who has a chance to shoot in cinema
format then I guess you would choose to
21 but for most people are going to be
doing 16 by 9 that we had a nice wide
screen look on your 1080p or 720p
television
you're going to want the level for
render quality to be 4.2 you can make it
5.1 if you want to by default i usually
is 4.2 it looks just fine
and another thing you want to make sure
is that always always double check that
your output and your source settings are
the same or very similar and this will
apply to any editor for sure it will
have something that will tell you the
difference between your output which is
what you're rendering in the rendering
29 1920 x 1080 and make sure its
matching up to sequence which is also
1920 x 1080 in less if you want to you
know step down from 1080 or 720 you can
go ahead and do that
so there you go guys there's a quick
little overview
basically we want to make sure that the
bear rate is higher
I want to make sure that you have a
render quality right and you know
overall just pump up that vary as far as
you can get it to go and you'll go ahead
and have a great quality for dvds or
blu-ray
now one quick other thing i want to
point out is your audio settings that's
really important to if you're doing
blu-ray if for some reason you you're
able to shoot in surround sound
you know you want to make sure that you
use a
you see alpha channels you know stereo
or 5.1 if you shine a 5.1 and of course
you want to offer you quality as high as
possible
now this is one last quick quick tip
that everyone should know is your bear a
kilobits per second for audio is just as
important as video you want to make it
out 320 because 320 is equivalent to
what they call CD quality in the in the
industry whether music entertainment
film 320 kilobits per second is the
highest quality you can go when burning
in AAC or mp3 format and that's
generally a good way to go
so and that's really your only option
when you're using h 2 h 264 as your code
which is by default the one of the best
codex around right now so you guys have
it for sure

onto DVD or blu-ray
