ok so i'm going to quickly and really
easily show you how to make labels using
Microsoft Excel
so what you want to do first is change
your layout under page layout of the top
to orientation
once you do this it's just you're fit
more labels on this way and you'll also
see the grid lines so you don't want to
go outside obviously of the page when
you're printing
so next you want to insert the label so
you go to insert at the top and then
into shape so you can make your label
any shape you want but generally i pick
a rectangle and now just just with the
star drag it to the size that you want
it to be for bigger baskets or in jars
you can have bigger labels for smaller
ones you have smaller label you can
customize them to be any size that you
want
now that you've got this here you can
actually fill the back shape with
anything you want so you go up here to
shape fill you can change the color to
any color that you want you can also
graduate so it looks like faded
different colors for a different look
or you can dance insert a picture so
what I like to do is actually put a
damask sort of black and white thing on
the back of a lot of my labels
then what you do is you insert another
one on top so you go back to shape and
again i'm choosing a rectangle but you
can choose any size and you going to put
that over top now you can keep that
color you can do whatever you like with
it generally what I do is make it white
on the inside so you can see how the
labels coming bearing to into shape
next you want to insert your word art so
you go over here at the top under insert
you go over all the way to word art and
generally i picked this bevel letter
which is a second row from the bottom
here
you just simply move your text over and
you can insert it whatever you want it
to say say sugar and
and then to change the size and the
color what you want to do is right click
and then the word menu like the editing
menu will come up there so you can
change it to any color you want you can
make it
hello orange you can change the size
here to make it as big or as small as
you want and and yeah and and then you
can adjust it so it's in the middle
there of your label now to add extra
color to it whatever you decide you can
make a lot of lots of different colors
you can go to shape outline here and you
can choose any color of an outline let's
just pick orange because we're going
with that for both of your shapes you
can make the colors there now instead of
recreating shapes over and over and over
again
simply hold ctrl and select all that
you've just done
right click on copy oh sorry
right click on copy and then simply
click off and hit paste and you will
have as many labels as you want and I'm
simply change the words right one for
sugar white flour or whatever you want
to do now this back picture can be any
picture you want
also you need to do is go on google and
you can search you know I don't know
whatever you want to search for your
back picture and design that you'd like
or you can leave it a solid color
it's completely up to you and then what
we do for printing them is I print them
on on large labels here if you're
hanging them specifically on baskets you
can just put them on cardstock i don't
recommend regular paper because it will
curl over time and less your laminating
but if you're putting them on jars a
really great way is using these large
label sheets
so you can fill up your whole page with
labels you can print them out on one
sheet and then cut them out any custom
shape that you want for all of your
labels
the nice thing about these removable
white sheet labels are too if you in the
future say
you you've got you know a certain size
of pasta and a job that you want to make
a label for if you're changing that
these labels really easily peel off and
you can replace them with other labels
without having to use google to really
scrub the labels off and they won't
wreck your container at all but they
really adhere well so I got these from
I believe walmart but they're the Avery
full sheet labels you can find them
anywhere they're very inexpensive and
that way you can really customize your
labels
so that's your tip make some labels
