Adobe Acrobat XI OCR Converts Image PDF to Searchable True Text PDF

Save time searching a pdf with Adobe Acrobat XI and OCR. Convert an image pdf into a searchable true text pdf. A big book was laid in a copier and the image was converted to pdf as an image. Only the commenting feature is available when a pdf is an image only. All other tools become available once you convert the image with OCR into a true text file.

that adobe acrobat has to offer me as i

this is a real-world situation this is a
15 page document i read weeks ago that I
now want to return to to reference a
specific quote and would really love to
be able to use the ctrl f function the
find function but i'm unable to do so
because it simply was as you can see a
book played on a printer probably a
thick book and pictures were taken and
then those pictures were were saved
none of the tools in my tool bar are
available to me i could comment on it
but essentially what i have here is in
the in the real world if this was hard
copy i'm basically looking through the
document i'm looking through glass at at
the document i'm unable to actually work
with the document to scribble on it to
highlight it and so this is what Acrobat
is going to help me with and it does so
very politely i'm clicking to highlight
let's say this would work on any acrobat
11 document when it sees that I'm
frustrated that I can't get my
highlighter to work it asks me if they
could help would you like to run
character analysis to try to make the
text on this page accessible
yes thank you and now it's going to run
an OCR which stands for optical
character recognition is going to go
through page by page
and convert this document from just a
picture to a digital form in which I can
use all the tools available to me from
Adobe not just the highlighter which I
will illustrate now once this OCR is
complete
it's probably a thick book and you can
see it's already been scribbled in saved
for posterity which is great but I
really don't have time to scroll through
an eyeball this whole document so now as
it completes going to hit ctrl f let me
see if I can drag that over a bit
there we go and the word I'm looking for
their the the quote i'm looking for
contains the word work
page by page now because it's in digital
form acrobat identifies each instance of
the word work
I'm already halfway through the document
and I haven't found it
just think how long this would take me
those weeks ago haha
there it is the only good criterion for
technical writing is does it work
