How to convert a Microsoft Word document to HTML to be viewable in a web browser
Closed Caption:
ok we have a document here in microsoft
word that we would like to upload to the
internet so it's viewable in a web
browser web browsers can't read document
files so we have to save it in a form
that can read and that would be HTML
microsoft work and save your document as
HTML but there's this couple things we
want to check first
first we're going to want to go into the
view menu here and view it as a web
layout shows you what it look like as a
web page and you'll notice that the all
four pages come in at one page you're
going to want to check your spacing and
formatting to make sure everything comes
through ok you want to make sure you're
not using any custom fonts or anything
that a web browser won't read as a
standard and then we'll go to our Start
menu here and save as and other formats
and for our save as type down here we'll
go down to web page we don't want
single-file web page because that the
format that creates can't be read by all
browsers and we don't need to filter it
so we'll just do a standard web page and
we'll go into tools and web options
and it defaults to Internet Explorer
four or later for the web browser that
people will be using a view it a
majority of people looking at your web
page you're going to be using internet
explorer 6 or later so you want to
change that and that standard will a lot
more complex formatting and different
kinds of image files that it can use it
ok and we're going to save it to the
desktop so we'll hit save and if we did
right there it is it should open
internet explorer and it does and that's
how you do it
