I want to show you a really great free
powerful tool called free quarter for
its a video audio recorder converter
that sits right in your browser and
gives you access to thousands of radio
stations tons of television channels
just a great tool to have if you're a
fan of streaming media and it's free
super easy to use
like I said it's in your browser i have
it on my vista vista 64-bit pc running
and firefox works in IE as well and when
you install it all you gotta do is go to
settings make sure you've got it set up
the way you want the default settings
are that all your saved files are going
to go to your free quarter for folder in
the documents my documents folder can
change that just by clicking this box
here and then any video that you play
that is downloadable it's temporarily
saved in a temporary storage folder and
this right here lets you determine how
big that folder is going to be the
default is 500 megabytes you can make it
smaller bigger if you want and then the
audio capture settings that you
determine the quality of the audio that
you want
I've the default is at CD quality which
is a hundred twenty-eight kilobits a
second that you can set it to less or
more depending on the quality of the
size of the file that you want i have it
on my vista machine so I've click this
record using Windows Vista audio
technology if you're not running vista
you can just click this box here which
works on 99% of the machines out there
and then this last box just lets you
keep your little record audio window on
top of all the others and I keep that
check i'm just gonna click Save then let
me quickly show you how to save some
video so you go to the root of the video
history button right here now i have
played music videos on imeem I played
some MSNBC off of the twilight moms .
com site i played the pilot of community
off tvshack.net i played a YouTube video
of a diff facebook video they're all
here in this temporary storage any of
the ones i want to save like this jay z
empire state of mind video i just click
on it i can right click on it
and click Save like that and then it'll
give me an opportunity to rename it if I
want just save it and then it says okay
you're saving it you want to take it out
of temporary storage i say yes and then
I'm saved it's no longer here if I want
to play any of the videos that are
listed in the temporary file all i gotta
do is click on it and click Play and it
brings up in this case the interview
with kristen stewart on the today show
if I want to play any of the videos that
I've saved permanently i click play on
the three-quarter for interface and it
brings up a list of all the videos that
i saved so here is the taylor swift
video that i saved from I mean I just
click on it it brings up the player and
starts playing the video the video
history tool is very easy to use the
record audio tool also very easy it will
record any audio that you play on your
pc literally any audio so let me show
you i go click on record audio brings up
this little recording window and then go
over to the free radio that player that
comes with three quarter for i click
play it plays my favorite radio station
k fog soon as it starts playing here you
can tell that it's now recording the
audio let it play for a little while
once I want to stop it i just move my
mouse over the window it brings up the
stop recording button click that then
allows me to rename it I right click
rename i type in cave five and then
close
there's also a free converter tool
available with recorder for all you
gotta do is click on the convert button
brings up a list of all your saved audio
and video files all you gotta do is
click on the one you want to convert
right here choose the format that you
want to convert it to from this handy
drop-down menu there quite a few to
choose from i'm going to choose ipod
high-quality for this flv file and then
i can choose to automatically add your
converted files to itunes if you want
and then just click begin
it's that simple
so in addition to this great video audio
recording and conversion capability

then there is access to the applied
media guide which is a tremendous
resource for radio shows radio stations
and podcast there are links here that
will give you access to thousands of
radio stations and thousands of podcast
