Capture Modes in Snagit 10 (TechSmith)

Snagit can capture more than just images. You can also capture text from an application, video, and multiple images from a web page. This is a brief tour through the "other" capture modes.

which makes sense because networks with
images really well
but snag it can also capture text video
in multiple images from a website
so in this video I'm gonna show you the
basics a beach
starting with X capture text captures
designed for those times when you can't
normally capture text
let me show you what I mean first
set the capture mode to text by clicking
the little blue button
here you know you're in text mode when
you see the Chi
so an example when to use text capture
is with the Windows Explorer
have you ever needed to write down the
names UHV all the files in the folder
you can't just select the files and copy
the names
but with Snagit you can capture the text
on the screen
so if i start my capture at select the
names of the files and folders
the open up in the snag a editor snag it
maintains the basics down formatting of
the text which is great
and if you want you can select the text
and change the style with the rich text
controls
and when you're ready to move the text

click the copy all buttoned and paste
the text into your document
so that's text capture now let's capture
a video
TechSmith makes a couple products that
are really good with video
but snag it was the first to capture
video
click the little blue button again and
select video capture
do you is perfect when he need to
capture more than just one
image or a process take for example the
problem with this button
it keeps moving around when I try to
click it that's probably a bug
so let's capture video of it click the
big red button
and select the area you want to capture
the snag a video capture screen pops up
to let you know the details of your
capture it also gives you a hint down
here and how to stop your capture
just use the Print Screen button so when
you're ready
click Start and the capture window
starts blinking
this let you know that's negatives
recording
when you recorded what you want
press the printscreen button in the
capture pauses
you'll also get the details on the
capture
like how many frames were captured and
the video link
now just click the Stop button and you
can preview the video
in Snagit from here you can play
and stop the video and even stepped
through the video
but what's nice is you can save a single
frame for the video as an image
or if you want to save your entire video
recording
as an AVI file just click the Save
button
well thats video so let's move on to web
capture
web capture lets you download all the
images on the web site
say you want to get a new bike what you
want to do some comparison shopping
let's use web capture to grab all the
images on the web page quickly
just click the little blue button to set
the cap from 0 to web capture
and click the big red button snag it
asks you for the web address or URL of
the web page
snag it looks to web page captures all
the images
and then opens them in the slaying at
library now I can use all the images
together
or just use the 1i need
