How to extract iPhone, iPod or iPad backup data with iPhone Backup Extractor - Expert Mode
If you need to access encoded iPhone, iPod or iPad backup data such as app data, SMS data, Camera Roll pictures or Safari history this is a guide on how to do that with the use of the iPhone Backup Extractor software.
While the Simple Mode function of the iPhone Backup Extractor gives the user the ability to extract data from the iTunes backup files in a easy on click fashion, by clicking on the numbers next to the available data section or by using the 'Extract' menu at the top of the application and get the files exported into industry standard files so they can be used to import and sync back to your iDevice using application like Outlook, Gmail, MobileMe. etc, the Expert Mode function exposes the files stored in the backup directly. This is really helpful for getting bespoke files that are stored in the backup like app data or for investigating corrupt SQLite database files. Many of the files from the section will need a SQLite manager to be viewed correctly.
The iPhone Backup Extractor is free to use and contains all the functionality needed to extract files from iTunes back-ups where available. This can either be done via the user friendly front-end system (Simple mode), but is limited to a couple of files at a time when not registered. Or full access (Expert mode) to the more complex SQLite database that Apple use to store their iTunes data.
The registered version, has extended functionality with respect to extracting multiple files quickly from the easy to use front-end system. It also includes 12 month email support and updates for the application.
