this time of year a lot of people start
thinking about indoor projects and i'll
tell you why the holidays and parties
are right around the corner
perhaps you're thinking about putting in
a brand-new kitchen countertop
maybe a ceramic tile backsplash maybe
you want to get your powder room floor
redone with some really neat ceramic
tile before those parties and your
guests arrive
but you're shy away from the project
because you don't know how to cut
ceramic tile
guess what it's simple if you use the
right tools now what first thing you're
going to need is a tile cutter
these things are easy to work with they
have these really neat carbide wheels
that basically cut the tile just like
you cut a piece of glass you score the
tile you apply a little bit of pressure
and the tile snaps perfectly right down
the cut line
you can also use these really nifty
carbide tip blades that fit in a hacksaw
that allow you to cut L shapes and tiles
you go ahead and cut one side of the leg
with a carbide tip saw blade and then
you use your tile cutter to finish the
cut
if you need to make curve cuts they make
special rod type saws that fit into your
hacksaw as well and you can also get
some really neat hole saws that allow
you to cut perfect circle's inside of
ceramic tile
basically any cutting tool you need is
available you can get them at tool
rental houses or most of the really high
quality ceramic tile supply houses in
the tri-state area have these cutting
tools and they'll read them to you
cutting ceramic tile is very very simple
