hello this is news from New Horizons
that third session on conditional
formatting today we're going to look at
icon sets another element of conditional
formatting going to do not apply to my
concepts these cells to represent their
values and I concepts come like in three
or four kind of like keys if we go to
conditional format highlight cells i'm
gonna apply conditional formatting we go
down to icon sets got arrows obviously
the green yellow and green representing
the highest yellow the median and red
lost and if we have to move around we
can actually see a preview of how those
icon sets are before we actually select
them i can move after the traffic lights
as we can see here green is the highest
yellows the media and red is the low and
we've got indicates we've got flags
we've even got what we call mobile phone
signals here as well so we've got quite
a range over i concepts we can choose
from arches just choose the shaped one
and because the conditional formatting
is applied to all these cells if i
change this to 12,000 the highest one
all the cells will change and the
conditional formatting will reset itself
to indicate which is the highest on this
diet for waitrose which is 36 so its
dynamic because it's applied to
ourselves what makes this unique though
is I can actually edit it i can actually
select the actual range of the rules of
the rule applies to go to conditional
formatting go to the manage rules and as
you can see it's telling me that and I
concept applies to the current selection
what does must select that and I'm gonna
go edit rule now it's saying former I've
chosen a former all cells based on their
values and what we've got is formats
style icon sets i could do reverse icon
order i could change the icon style i
wanted to hear what I'm going to do is
I'm going to customize it and also
you'll notice here
here I can choose the value so i can
actually customize the values of moments
sixty-seven percent is going to be great
the highest 67% 33 and we can actually
choose actual numbers formulas or
percentage but i'll just select keep
with the percentage but what I want to
do is I can actually remove these yellow
values in median values and say well I
don't want to sell icon for that just
show me the top and bottom values and
kind of customize the icon style so i'll
do that and I'll click on OK and it
should now if I click on apply seats
edited the 1i could apply it should just
show me the top and bottom values and i
click on ok so all the median values
been excluded and I'm just left with the
top and bottom values hope that helps
