Episode 19 - How To Enable Remote Access To MySQL Server on Windows Server

this tutorial will show you how to enable access to your MySQL server so other could manage it with a GUI :).

19 and today I'm going to show you guys
how to enable remote access to your my
secret server on the Windows platform
ok so i have two machines that have my
local machine and have another virtual
machine on my vmware workstation which
i'm going to start up and resume
ok both machines have my sequel enabled
I installed my secret from the website
often without the workbench and the
scenario is is when you install sequel
on the machine
the only person has access is the local
user on that machine so let's say you
have a couple people in your team that
won access to it and you want them to
administer it when you're not at the
site or you don't want them have access
to the server so you have to give them
permissions or you have to enable access
to that machine so the way to do it is
by this command
okay grant all privileges on a strict .
a strict which will give you access to
everything to the username if you create
a username for specific users and your
group go for it for my example i'm just
going to give fruit at the IP address
now if you want to break down the
privileges to certain IP addresses let's
say Bob Smith have an IP address of 192
168 11 you will put that IP address and
he's the only person that will have
access to my secret server if he has
that IP address that mostly works if
it's a static IP address but if you
don't want to do if you don't want to go
there right route you can actually use
of percepts sign and it would basically
take any IP address identified by the
password of that account
and I want to do that you should get a
notification that it passed and ok and
then you flush the privileges and you
should have access now I install my
sequel on my host machine
ok to shoulder database man basic
commands on this i'm going to create a
database all my BB show data base again
ok so my DBS installed again the only
person that has access to this is the
person that's logged into this machine
now if i go into my virtual machine and
i double-click on my secret when bridge
and I want to establish a connection to
that pc it's it's not going to happen
I'm gonna get access denied
ok so once this stuff is up i want to do
is a new connection and let's say a
laptop DB and the whole snake named is
actually the my computer name it and I
want to test the connection and it's
going to give me this
ok now if i go back in to minimize my
virtual machine my workstation rbm
workstation and i go here and let's
let's modify this as a I want to do our
copy and paste
ok and i want to change this to route
change the IP 2% doesn't matter what IP
it is and i'm going to put the password
guys don't have to worry about this is a
testing dummies nothing really critical
important into business the sequel
server so if you guys had to it eh not
really gonna get anything going to paste
this command and hit enter going to get
this
that's great last command that you want
to do is you want to flush the from
privileges
and they go go back to my virtual
machine establish a new connection give
it a name I'm going to call it that when
i call it holes BB i believe and let's
try again see if it works out
test the connection and then you go and
provide the password
sorry are correct
excellent press ok double-click on this
enter password and you should have
access to the database you want to test
it out
let's use world show tables and there
you go that's it
