alright hello everybody this is Denver
Dave here David for rod from the mile
high city with the quick video to show
you how to send email using google
groups
this is gmail using google groups now
there are a lot of advanced features
within the google groups that go beyond
the scope of this video so 4 times sake
we're going to go to the basic
information and that you set it up and
actually add members to the group and
then sin an email to the group
so we're going to be able to do you have
six steps here steps one through six
open gmail go to your groups.google.com
going to then create a group and members
to the group create a welcome message
and sent email messages to the group
so first and foremost of you're going to
have your gmail account
so this is my gmail account that's
already open so when you go to
groups.google.com it'll open up the
respective groups related to that gmail
account
so we're going to do that we're going to
go to groups.google.com you open it up
for that respect to gmail account and as
you can see you already have the group
created
the reason for that is partially because
i was doing some testing but also once
you create your group it kind of takes a
while for that group to populate in this
list so i wanted to make sure i created
a group that would be here already
because when i do this live for you
right now or on this recording
you're not going to see it populating
this list right away in fact i just did
one is still not here
so if i refresh and click my groups it's
still not populated because it just
takes a few minutes because its global
global mean that it goes within Google's
database
so anyway let's do this so step one of
course was to open gmail step to go into
google groups is where so we're going to
create any group going to have members
can create a welcome message and we're
going to send an email to the group
alright so let's do it so first you
click create group and once you do that
you want to name this room so we're
going to say
denver games
yes d yes domina
Jason
team what
all in
right
denver James DS domination team right
everybody is domination right
make money
so the group description is my yes
so you just want to leave all of this at
the default because again there's a lot
of advanced features that when i would
get into in this video to take way too
so once you have that done you can
actually create your group and remember
this group email address is unique to
you remember this is going to be global
within gmail Google's database so nobody
else can ever use this name this will be
unique to you
so if you put a name in here is already
in use little red flags that you can't
use that mary has so it's very neat to
your group
so once you create that it's gonna
asking for capture the true that you're
not a robot

so let's put that in there and click
continue and there we have it
it's going to take and wha-la there we
have our computers create so the next
step is to invite people to join the
group
so in order to do that you want to click
invite people to the group but you want
to either invite members which means
they would have to
they will receive an invitation to you
and they must accept before they can
receive a message
so you can actually sort of pop them in
this way so you can add people one at a
time separated by email addresses and
then sending inviting once they accept
they'll be a member of the group or you
can go to directly add members in again
you gotta be careful with this please
use this feature carefully
only at people that you know using the
future by sending unwanted emails result
an account the activation
you gotta be careful that right but you
add them here in her email addresses to
have members you have one of the time
separated by a comma
each person will immediately become a
member to start receiving your messages
so let's put me in there for example
will put one of my
business in there let's go this one
down you know welcome me to the group
and i'll be able to send messages to
that person and then add another one
you know so on and so forth as many as
you like i don't believe there's any
limitation i have not tested with the
limitations are how many people you can
add just yet i'm assuming there is
really no limit but almost
you know i'm guessing so sorry that I
don't know more about that
you know who's always change something -
so you would write your message message
here you would say something like
welcome to through this this would be
your you know your your email or your
message whatever you want to send you
know to somebody
welcome to the group expect great
attention
so whatever you're going to say and
spell check it all right so the other
important thing before we close here is
to make sure that you click the button
here this is all email send each message
as it arrives kind of thing because what
this is basically doing is you're going
to want all people who subscribe to this
to actually get an email from the center
because you can actually delegate people
to be able to send messages to your
group
so you want that message to reach each
person as it comes in as its scent
in other words because you could have no
email and web only participation where
you have this group on a blog or
whatever and then people can see those
messages populate the bridging the email
one summary female friend
each new activity per day so it would be
one email goes out from all these
activity of all these different messages
or digesting up to 25 full new messages
in a single
milk so that's kind of some of the
advanced stuff that kind of goals beyond
the scope of this video but i just
wanted to show you this because once you
click this button all an email that
means all messages will go out so i'm
gonna click Add to add those two email
addresses canister asking for capture
nine
your kind of annoying but they're there
for good reason
and then you click continue and members
have been added to people were added to
this group so i can click show the show
who knows members are now I'm done right
so that was a welcome message that went
to now when I want to actually send a
message to the entire group
here's something which is cool i can use
my nickname here still my regular name
yeah that's fine and linked to my google
profile is going to pull up that
information that's why save changes and
then I can click my new topic
here's the ad welcome message then the
general add
message type in here then I can click
the new topic
and once I do that I can actually send
to the entire group
this parts pretty self-explanatory once
i click post after going ahead and
crafting my email up
i can click post and it will actually
send it to everyone in my groups
so again if i go here you see now that
it has populated there are my groups
that i can send - okay so hopefully that
helps in your marketing effort helps you
communicate i know this really robust
email programs out there but this is a
free way to actually put together a
email list for a group of people that
you want to communicate with the email
