The kit allows integrating video capturing and processing capabilities into your software, enabling it to playback video and audio, both streaming and saved in a file, capture streaming media from a wide range of sources. You can use it to broadcast your live video over network, record live TV programs or create security solutions by utilizing the built-in motion detector.
The TV capture functions allow setting up interfaces with multimedia hardware; thus, you can use them to select the TV channel, type of multimedia, and its source: TV-Tuner, FM-Tuner or S-Video; choose to define TV band override rules and use the auto-tuning. The internal video device controls offer a convenient crossbar interface for configuring video input, video format, and frame rate.
The processing tools allow creating movie previews, overlaying the picture with graphics or text, adjusting its transparency, brightness, contrast, saturation, hue, and other parameters. You can resize or change its resolution, deinterlace or denoise it. Supports custom interfaces, On-Screen Display, Picture-In-Picture, screen capture and outputting to multiple screens, WinForms and WPF applications. The audio tools include a volume booster, equalizer, and a 3D-bass system.
The list of formats supported by the SDK includes thoroughly configurable AVI, WMV, DV, WebM, FLV and MPEG of all kinds via FFMPEG. With 3rd-party DirectShow filters added, it can also support custom formats. Audio and screenshots are captured to the common WAV/MP3 and BMP/JPEG/PNG files.
