You emptied the Trash, and now you need that file back
Maybe a memory card got formatted, an external drive stopped mounting, or you deleted a folder and only noticed later. FILERECOVERY Professional from LC Technology is built for those moments. It scans a drive, builds a tree of lost and deleted files, and lets you save the ones you want somewhere safe.
Quick facts
- Edition: Professional (the vendor also sells Standard and Enterprise)
- Platforms: Windows and Mac
- Mac requirement: Mac OS X 10.8 or higher with an Intel processor
- Price: $99.99 for Professional
- License: valid for one year
- Trial: a free trial of the Professional edition is offered
Key features
Find lost files by name
You can search lost and deleted files by file name. A fast scanning engine builds the file list quickly, and you browse it in a file manager with a familiar Save dialog.
Preview files before you recover them
The software previews recoverable data, including MPEG audio and video. You can check a file is intact before you save it.
Recover without writing to the damaged drive
FILERECOVERY does not write on the drive it is scanning. You can save recovered data to any other drive, including removable media.
Rebuild and recover RAID volumes
RAID rebuilding and recovery is included in Professional but not in Standard. The vendor says the software handles drives with severe logical file system damage and files from Windows, Mac and Linux file systems.
Many file types, many kinds of media
It targets photos, videos, music, documents, spreadsheets, presentations, databases, mailboxes, address books and archives. It works on hard drives, optical drives, flash media and mobile devices.
Who it's for
It suits you if you have lost data from an external or internal hard drive and want to run the recovery yourself at home. It also suits you if you need RAID support, which Standard lacks. If you need remote recovery over VNC or VMDK file recovery, those come only in Enterprise.
