Your company still has mailboxes at an outside provider, but your staff work on an Exchange or other SMTP mail server. Someone has to get that mail across, and you want it checked for spam and viruses on the way. SmartPOP2Exchange is built for this job. It downloads mail from POP3 and IMAP accounts and forwards it to Exchange or any SMTP server.

Key features
Pull mail from POP3 and IMAP accounts into your own server
The program runs in the background as an independent Windows system service. It collects mail from your external mailboxes and forwards it to your internal server. It also supports catchall accounts, so mail for several addresses is passed on to the correct recipients.
Filter spam and viruses before mail reaches your users
The integrated SpamAssassin filter lets you build individual spam rules. It includes a Bayes filter with spam and ham training, plus blacklists and whitelists for addresses and words. ClamAV is preconfigured as the virus scanner, and you can connect other scanners. JAM Software claims 99% spam detection.
Sort incoming mail with an Outlook-style rule system
You can set predefined actions for emails that match certain criteria. The vendor describes the rules as working just like in Microsoft Outlook. Incoming mail can also be backed up.
Control when each account is fetched
A flexible scheduler sets the days and times for each account. You can also adjust the download interval or retrieve continuously. Several accounts are processed in parallel.
Keep track of what happened
The event log records everything and has a search function. Email notifications are sent when errors occur. You can import and update account data from sources such as Excel, which saves typing when you have many accounts.
Install it away from your mail server
You install SmartPOP2Exchange on a separate PC, not on your SMTP or Exchange server. It supports SSL encrypted connections, and a PickupFolder lets it process standard email files from other applications.
Who it's for
It suits small and mid-sized organizations that keep external POP3 or IMAP mailboxes but run an Exchange or SMTP server inside. It also suits anyone who needs catchall mail split up among internal users. JAM Software also positions it as an alternative to POPcon and POPcon Pro, with a tool to move your POPcon accounts over.
