You send an urgent notice to everyone on the network, and half the staff never sees it because they had their chat window closed. Vypress Auvis is built for that situation. It is a small receiver that sits in the system tray and shows messages from your administrator as they arrive.

Key features
Receive network-wide alerts from a system tray icon
Auvis is a one-way messaging client. It receives messages, alerts and broadcasts from network administrators. It does not let users send anything back, so it works as a notice board and not as a chat tool.
Take messages from several sources
It can receive from Vypress Messenger, using direct TCP messages and UDP broadcasts. It also receives from WinPopup/Messaging Service and from Unix systems with SMB enabled.
Lock down the end-user interface with registry keys
You can disable one or all of the extra features, such as closing the program, through special registry keys. You can also hide settings and define allowable message sources, so users can't switch it off.
Get e-mail notification as well
Auvis also provides e-mail notification. The vendor describes it as monitoring POP3 mailboxes and alerting you to new mail.
Who it's for
Auvis suits administrators of corporate LANs or WANs who need broadcasting and unicasting for a middle to large network. It is aimed at non-professional end users, who only need to read what arrives.
