Excel For Macintosh 2011 ODBC Query Tool to FileMaker Pro Crashes

Hi, I'm attempting to connect Excel to FileMaker Pro 12 via ODBC and create queries from Excel to the FMP file but the Excel Query Tool keeps crashing. Any assistance you can provide would be great. Attempting this on a MacBook Pro running OSX 10.6.8 with 4GB RAM. Thanks.
