eScan Internet Security Suite: Windows Protection at $34.45 a Year
eScan Internet Security Suite is a $34.45-a-year Windows security suite from MicroWorld Technologies with antivirus, a firewall, anti-ransomware, parental control and USB device control. It suits home and small office users who want a lot of settings in one package.
It isn't the first antivirus we'd suggest. Its independent lab record is decent but no longer current, and the last major outside review we found was unimpressed. Read the evidence below, then try the 30-day trial before paying.
Quick facts
- Version: 22, Cyber Vaccine Edition
- Developer: MicroWorld Technologies
- Platform: Windows
- Price: $34.45 a year, renewing yearly
- Trial: 30 days

What we checked: the order page, which showed $34.45 with renewal every 12 months, and the vendor's installer (491 MB, file dated July 2, 2026), both on November 6, 2026. We didn't install it or test its protection, and eScan's page has no real program screenshots, so this page has none.

Before you buy
- The newest AV-Test report we could find for this suite covers March and April 2024. AV-Test's later home tests don't list a newer eScan report.
- The order page sells the "Home User Version". eScan's own store offers licenses for 1, 2, 3 or 5 users, so check the seat count before you pay.
- Windows' built-in Microsoft Defender is free, so this suite has to earn its yearly cost with its extras.
Overview
eScan has been made by MicroWorld Technologies, based in Mumbai, for many years, and its focus today leans toward business security. Version 22 of the home suite adds what eScan calls the Cyber Vaccine Edition. TechRadar noted in 2018 that eScan's antivirus used a Bitdefender engine, alongside eScan's own.
Features
Real-time protection with behavior analysis
eScan Internet Security Suite monitors the PC for malware, spyware and ransomware, using its own Proactive Behavioral Analysis Engine, which eScan says works offline as well.
Anti-ransomware with shadow backup
eScan Internet Security Suite watches running processes, and an Intelligent Shadow Backup is meant to help you recover important files after a ransomware attack.
Two-way firewall
eScan Internet Security Suite filters incoming and outgoing network requests, so you can see and control which programs connect.
Parental control
eScan Internet Security Suite restricts websites and applications with separate profiles for each user.
Device and application control
eScan Internet Security Suite can block threats from USB and FireWire storage, and it lets you allow or block individual applications.
Extras: login protection, patches, safe browsing
eScan Internet Security Suite adds two-factor login authentication, a check for missing Windows security patches, and a custom secure browser for shopping and payments.
Benefits
- Control for tinkerers. Firewall, device and application rules go further than most home suites.
- Family use. Parental controls come included.
- A modest yearly price. It sits below many big-name suites.
Real-World Uses
- Blocking unknown USB sticks on a family PC.
- Limiting what children can open, with a profile for each child.
- Using a small office PC where you want to allow only certain applications.
Who It's For, and Who Should Skip It
eScan Internet Security Suite fits users who like detailed settings and want device, application and parental controls in one product, especially where eScan has local support.
Skip it if your main goal is the best proven protection. Products with current top lab results are a safer pick, and Microsoft Defender costs nothing. Beginners may also find it complicated: TechRadar called the interface clumsy and over-complicated.
Usage Guide
- Remove any other antivirus first, since two real-time scanners conflict.
- Download the installer. It's large, at 491 MB.
- Run it and activate the 30-day trial.
- Update the signatures and run a full scan.
- Set up the firewall and parental control, then decide whether to buy.
Where it falls short
- Old lab data. We found no AV-Test report after April 2024.
- Slower program launches. In that report, standard applications opened 9% slower on a standard PC, compared with an industry average of 5%.
- Website blocking. A G2 reviewer complained that non-malicious sites get blocked.
- Windows-focused suite. Mac, Linux and mobile are separate eScan products.
What Users Say
AV-Test, March and April 2024: certified, 17 out of 18
AV-Test certified eScan Internet Security Suite 22.0 on Windows 11, with 5.5 of 6 for protection, 6 of 6 for performance and 5.5 of 6 for usability. That is a good score, a half point short of the Top Product award. Protection against zero-day attacks was 98.7% and 99.4% across the two months, against an industry average of 99.5%.
TechRadar, December 24, 2018: disappointing
Mike Williams reviewed the sister product, eScan Anti-Virus, which shares its core protection: "Underpowered and overcomplicated, eScan Anti-Virus disappoints in most areas." Its lab results then swung from bottom of 18 products in one report to fourth in another, and the antivirus failed to stop TechRadar's own ransomware simulator. The review is old, so version 22 may behave differently.
G2 and eScan's site
G2 shows 4.4 out of 5 from just 4 reviews, seen in a search excerpt only. Trustpilot has no reviews of eScan. eScan's page quotes short customer comments, such as Raghvendra Singh's "This Anti-Virus works very good at laptop."
The pattern: lab scores in recent years were good, while hands-on reviews have been cooler. There is very little recent user feedback in English.
Comparisons
eScan Internet Security Suite vs Microsoft Defender
Defender is free, built in, and AV-Test still reports on it. eScan adds parental control, device and application control, and more firewall options. If you don't need those, Defender is the simple choice.
eScan Internet Security Suite vs eScan Total Security Suite
Both come from the same family. Total Security is the higher tier, and eScan publishes a comparison PDF. Choose it only if you need a specific extra.
Editions and Pricing

Conclusion
Verdict: eScan Internet Security Suite is a capable, feature-rich suite at a fair price, but we can't call it a top pick. It's worth $34.45 a year only if you want its device and application controls.
The one reason to buy is control. The main reason not to is the lack of current independent lab results, when free and better-tested options exist. Use the 30-day trial before deciding.
