what we're gonna be having a look at
this video is a way of working the
square root of numbers
these are going to be looking where we
got the square perfect squares that are
occurring less than a hundred we had it
with these and in just seconds
ok so i'll show you how to do this
anyway so first off we'll give you an
example
so how fast can you work at the square
root of 576
I'll give you a couple of seconds ok
times up
where did you get the answer of positive
- 24
if you did that's that's that's great
you got the right here to there
if not I'm going to show you how to do
this you know just by the way before
going further square rodeo it's really
important that you actually identify
this as a positive or negative itself
because say they have 24 times negative
24 gives us the editor of 526 the same
way
24 x 24 is this guy that there are five
hundred seventy-six so just before i go
i justjust back and out of that
having said that are probably not going
to worry about doing the positive - for
the are the rest of these numbers here
are just going to put them down as
numbers and you can assume that there's
a positive - they're so i'm going to
show you how we do this and it's going
to involve going your squares all the
way up to
I've done it up to die because I think
you should probably know - 10 squared I
think you should go there is already
anyway I think probably most of you will
be going to see that I've got shot at

the squares 1 squared is 1 2 squared is
4 3 squared is nord foursquare - 16 and
so on and so forth
we're going to be using these a fair bit

I'm just going to draw your attention to
those actually right there will be first

why don't we do it is as follows the way
we will get square root of 576 using
this is as follows

first thing we do is we have a look at
this particular units answer
the number here like I was six and we're
looking for a square root

so 60 does and 36 times the square root
that goes along side of those we have
for when we're talking about a 16 and we
have six
we were talking about 36 so answer is
going to finish it off four or six and
we're gonna work out for sure which one
this is in a little second but first off

these two digits next thing you do and
we just do directly there with this five
ok yeah we never look here along here in

Square to say i was looking for a number
that occurs just below five so it's
always going to be the number 5 itself
or the one closest to five which is
under okay so I'm gonna get along here
and you can say 144 is just under four

we're going to be dealing with this for
the square root of 4 is 2 to the first
part of their editor
ok now we're almost there
then we have to just work out whether or
not we're dealing with is a 24 or 26 is
an answer the why we do this as follows
is we get to hear
we just multiply by the next number up
okay well maybe the next up and tell you
which is 3 so 2 times 3 equals 6
yeah we have a look at these six and
pretty much what we do is as follows
it is five here is less than this six we
choose the lesser number
ok it was bored choose the bigger number
ok
- - I'm 365 is less than six so we
choose the lesser number here so we're
answer is 24
ok that's a bit of going through a table
will go through a couple more of these
you pick them up as we go along and then
what I recommend is you probably are the
other stop pause it and giving it a guy
ok so let's get into another one of
these so what about we do what there's
an 840 door and we have to work at the
square root of this
so first off once again what we do is
we're looking at this door right here
ok the noid and the double that goes
along with their going to either be a

the next thing I do is I cross that
these two numbers ok so it's going to
finish it three or seven
now look at this aight aight aight aight

ok 4 times 5 is 20 and there are
compared this to 88 here so i take it as
you will see is less than 20
so we choose once again the lesson

bigger in 30
so we're going to choose the bigger
number we have an aight so editor is 50

a different one here will do 2025 me
this is a nice and easy one you'll see

okay pause it and give it a go ok so
2025 you say that could only be 25 at
the end here because there's no other
option
I can't cross it out and they were
looking for the number which is going to
be a carry out of here okay so 4 squared
is going to be 64 squares to bunt sure
it's going to be a four
but the seriouser because we don't need
to differentiate between whether it's a
five or that is to set five isn't it so

ok 7 squared is 40 toward so this is
going to be a 70 k 7 times 8 is 56 and
56 is a 50 was less than fifty six so
we're going to choose the - okay this is
how i started doing things in my head of

what about 1444 ok so the last number he
could be a two or it could be a night
