Phoenix, Arizona - Gustavo Gutierrez, civil rights and Arizona farm labor organizer, Gustavo Gutierrez passed away on Saturday, September 1, 2012 as a result of injuries he suffered when he fell from a horse. Gutierrez was participating in a Peace and Dignity Journey along others. This February 2008 video corresponds to a brief speech he gave at the Macehualli Day Labor Center in Phoenix, Arizona, during the celebration of the 5th anniversary of the center. In this video, Gutierrez refers to a group of vigilantes who were outside the Macehualli protesting day laborers.
