How to rename multiple files in Mac OSX

in today's video I'm gonna show you how
to rename multiple files
and Mac OS 10 using Automator now course
if you're familiar with a
when does computer you know that all you
need to do in order to do this
will be taken ho control or on a Mac
command slight your files right click
and you it's eerie name in the list
below
now of course for some reason Apple
didn't include this in the last 10
so that's why I'm gonna show you how to
do this on a Mac
now of course the first thing you need
to do is go ahead and open a bottle
matter
you can found that in your applications
go ahead and open up on a matter
and we're gonna go ahead and choose the
workflow template
now in your search bar appear just go
ahead and type and rename
you'll see renamed find items
go ahead and select that and dragging on
over to your workspace area
now once you have that in your workspace
area
all you need to do now is go ahead and
select the file that you want to rename
and drag those over so will hold command
and select the files and drag those
right on top
%uh the now work for which is created
news trailers on top there
drop a man and you see that
down here we get to change the name
other files
and day or time at text but
the option that always uses Mexico
intial
this is pretty much the most common
option that you would use
change the name of the file obviously
so we'll get go ahead just change the
name to
Apple these are just three just random
text documents that I
create real quick just for the second
the video but of course if you had
pictures or movies
know this would saw a plot to any type
of file
so once you have the the new name in
here you can
place the number after the name or
before the name
which I always do after you can place
the dash in between or period
our space underscore not send hours put
a dash in there
but you can do this however you like so
once you have that setup
all that you need to do next is go ahead
and run on a matter
in your notice that the files on the
side change the name
there they are Apple one two and three
so that's pretty much a gas but
I'm gonna go ahead and show you how to
say this in your Dock
donors not have this down here Modoc as
a workflow
where can just click on a and opens up
right away so
what you need to do is go ahead and go
to File and say there's
its gonna ask you how to save it as a
workflow or an application
go ahead and save it as a workflow save
it to your desktop
and just name it rename files
and go-ahead hit save
we can go ahead and close autumn and I
are going quintana matter out
close a sale and you'll notice we have
rename
files over here as a workflow of course
you can go ahead and write that down
into your doc
wherever you like to put it put it over
here
