1978(?) BALDWIN Discoverer DS-50 Portable Organ and Analog Drum Machine
This rare, portable keyboard has a built-in speaker and weighs alot for being so small. It's made mostly of metal with plastic ends. I don't know what year it was made. But, judging by the "Disco" button, I'd say late 1970's. For some reason it reminds me of the show Land of the Lost.
Not useable as a main instrument but it has some cheesy charm which can be sampled.
Simple but effective design features:
- Rudimentary chord sequencer - Save chords in either full or half measure increments for playback
- All note polyphonic
- Built like a tank (metal top and bottom; plastic ends)
- 8 rhythms
- 3 preset sounds
- 4 combinable sounds
- Vibrato amount slider
- 2 types of auto accompaniment
- Separate rhythm, accompaniment and instrument volume controls
- Microphone input and volume control
- Can play major, minor, 7th and minor 7th chords
- For some reason has both a standard power cord and a jack for an AC adapter
NOTE: The sound is being run through reverb.
