How To Install Canon EOS Utility Without Original CD

If you have a Canon DSLR but lost your original EOS Utility that came with the camera, watch this video to learn how to re install the program.

going to show you how to arm how to
install the eos utility if you lost your
CD your camera your canon canon rebel or
york and new DSLR comes with the CD that
it has a software that lets you control
your camera from your computer
so it's a really good utility I use it
all the time but once you lose your CD
they don't let you download it from
online which is really stupid
what they do offer there for an update
we're going to allow the updater to
install as a normal program if you
follow
watch the video and by the end of it I
guarantee you'll have your us utility
installed but i'm thinking of an easier
fix so after this video I'm just going
to get a hold of the CD and upload and I
if so i'll make a follow up video and
get a link for you guys
alright thanks for watching ok as you
can see we're on canon's website on the
support page for the u.s. rebel t3i
doesn't matter what camera you have this
will work
if you look on the drivers and software
select your OS i have windows 8 but i'm
going to choose windows seven
just because that's what most people
have at this time it's gonna give you
the eos utility update its not going to
give you the original version of windows
vista updater windows 8 which is what i
have updated server whatever version of
Windows you put it's going to give you
going to give you the update or not the
actual program but we want the actual
program so we're going to do right now
is go ahead and download one of these
anyway I have windows 8 64 bit but i've
already downloaded it on which is this
file right here you just click there and
Green download i already downloaded it
so here's the file when you run it it
brings this up and says that the
software trying to update couldn't be
found
well obviously because you don't have it
on your computer what can and did is
they actually put the software in the
updater but they don't let you use it
which I really don't understand that did
it
counter-intuitive makes no sense so you
have windows seven you're going to go to
your Start menu we have windows 8 you're
going to go to your Start menu
Metro UI and you're going to type in
strange edit re g e di t dot exe and
then this is going to come up and on
windows 7 you should still see it
7 and XP I mean seven investigation see
it regedit.exe and click enter and it's
going to launch this the registry editor
and here's our registry editor see a
window like this and then we're gonna go
ahead and click hg local machine
sorry computers kind of being weird
we're going to launch hg local machine
and then you can click system and then
you're going to
oh no you're not going to click system
you're going to click software then
you're going to click while 64 32 node
down here at the bottom and you're going
to look for are you going to look for
canon
now your computer probably has cannon
mine doesn't because I deleted it yours
might have canon defensive you've got
anything from them but right click while
64 32 node quick new and key and key and
then arm
you'll see at the bottom here you'll see
new key one or something of the sort and
you want to rename it to Cannon and then
under cannon you want to do make a new
key and your name that cos utility
utility
and make sure you don't have any typos i
don't know if case matters but just do
it anyway
he is utility now you can go ahead and
close your registry editor but i think i
just closed
chrome no I did not ok cool
awesome so we're back in chrome and I
want to go to downloads and remember we
downloaded this we tried it didn't work
before

it's going to bring up the security pop
up and we're gonna give it permission to
run and now as you can see it's
extracting no errors
it's you know it's just installing as if
we already had the program
what we did is we made the computer
think that we already have this program
installed just going to install over
I have no idea why I can and this Oh
makes no sense to me but arm
this is you know this is pretty much the
easiest way to get the ELS utility now
the way I'm thinking about it an easier
way for someone that doesn't want to
take risks of doing anything like that
you could probably just DOM
you probably get a iso of the disc and
just launched that
now where is it us utility
here gettin is all the discs but I
haven't found that online Sodom and do
I'm gonna get a copy of the CD will
click on the bar my friends and I'm
gonna make an iso and i'll make a

autofocus manual focus I got a 18 to 20
is just 200 millimeter 250 millimeter
lens and yeah so the usefulness of this
is what was probably a couple different
uses but you'll figure something out
