CD Drive not detected - DVD Drive not detected - Windows 7 free fix

This tutorial shows you how to solve the problem of a CD drive not being detected on the "My Computer" screen and getting a yellow exclamation point in your "Device Manager". This stops your CD/DVD drive from working on your computer, but my video tells your how to fix dvd drive problem free and easy.

hello this is nick with nick's computer
fixed calm and here's my free fix for
whenever you get a DVD drive
that's not being detected and windows
seven okay to begin with if you're
having a problem with your DVD not being
detected
if you go into my computer you will not
see your DVD Drive being listed here and
also let's go ahead and close that out
if you go into your control panel and go
to your device manager you will see that
in your device manager you'll have a
yellow exclamation point next to your
DVD Drive in the king that you have an
issue with it and the correction or
defects for this is to go ahead and
click on the start and on command line
type in reg edit
re g e di t and say yes to the user
account control question and that open
up your registry
click on local machine and then go down
here and click on system then click on
your current control set then click on
control and then go up here and click on
class and then go down to this address
right here for d30 6965 and i'll put
that in the video description for you
ok here's the complete path and once
you're at this address on the right hand
side over here you're going to see your
lower filters and your upper filters and
these the two items that we want to
actually delete from here and you go
ahead and click on delete and say yes
and again you want to go ahead and do
the same to your upper filters right
click and then click on delete and say
yes
now once you've got these filters
deleted out a registry
we can go ahead and close the registry
out here and hit the X and at this point
we just want to go ahead and restart our
computer and that will reload the
register with those changes
on the boot up now that we've reload it
we can go to my computer and you can see
that the DVD drive is now listed and
also if we go to our control panel and
go to our device manager will see that
the yellow exclamation point next to our
DVD listing is now removed which says
that everything is working good
all right that's the solution it works
