Consonant Blending Bingo Cards - phonics bingo card generator

In phonics, consonant blends are pairs (or sometimes groups) of consonants which together produce a single combined sound, and that combined sound is made up by merging, or "blending" together the sounds of individual letters. An example of a consonant digraph is "br" which sounds like a combination of the "b"-sound followed by the "r"-sound, that have been merged, or "blended", together. Apart from "br", some other examples of consonant blends include "bl", "cl", "cr", "dr", "fl", "fr", "gl", "gr", "pl", "pr", "sc", "sk", "sl", "sm", "sn", "sp", "st", "tr", and "wr".

The steps to create consonant blending bingo cards using this bingo card maker software are:-

1. Start Bingo Card Printer

2. Click the large button labelled "Create New Bingo Card Project..." (or click "New..." on the "File" menu).

3. A dialog box should appear. Click on the "Reading" tab.

4. Scroll down and select one of the consonant blending templates, by clicking it with the mouse (you may need to scroll through the list), then click OK. There are many consonant blend templates to choose from - "Phonics - Consonant Blend Words" contains a mix of different consonant blends, or you can choose to focus only on a particular type of consonant blend such as "Phonics - Consonant Blend Words - "dr" at the beginning", or "Phonics - Consonant Blend Words - "pr" at the beginning".

5. You are now ready to print your consonant blend bingo cards, or, if you wish, you can customize them by adding/deleting items, changing colors and fonts, choosing a different bingo card size, etc.

6. Enter the number of bingo cards you need to print in the space provided, then click "Print..." on the "File" menu to begin printing.

The "Phonics - Consonant Blend Words" template will initially contain the following items, however you can of course customize the list of words (by adding your own words, or deleting unwanted words) if you wish to, or choose/start-from a word list that focuses only on a specific type of consonant blend.
