Videos von .vob nach .mp4 oder .mkv umkodieren.

Um 'High Quality' Videos von .vob in .mp4 oder .mkv umzurechnen bedarf es einiger Schritte die in diesem Video Tutorial erklärt werden sollen.

Das Programm meGUI ( http://sourceforge.net/projects/megui/ ) welches in diesem Beispiel verwendung findet ist konstenlos und erzielt sehr gute Ergebnisse.

Download the converter meGUI from
http://sourceforge.net/projects/megui/
First we have to create a 'High Quality' profile.
Click on 'New' and assign a name to the profile you find back later.
Change the 'Mode' to 'Automated 2Pass' and...
...'AVC Profile' to the value 'High Profile'.
Click on 'Update' and 'OK'.
Now select your profile.
Now select the output format - MP4 or MKV.
With 'File - Open' select the VOB File you want to encode. Change the search pattern to VOB.
In the new window you must select the correct audio channel. (Only when multi channel VOB)
After selecting the scannel click on 'Queue'.
Now change to the Queue list and start analysing the file.
You can close the preview window.
In the next window - select the screen rate. Normaly you should select '1:1' to keep the original rate.
You can 'crop' the video to cut subtitles or logos. Also the video can be recoded to a new format with 'Resize'.
Change to the 'Filter' page and change the 'Resize Filter'.
... 'Bicubiq (Soft)'. Now you can start the analyse for the 'Deinterlace Filters'.
When analyse is finished click on 'Save'.
The preview window can be closed.
To start encoding of the file change to the 'Input' tab and press 'AutoEncode'.
Now you have to select the output format again (MP4/MKV). Change the bitrate of the video as you like (more is better), for example '4000'.
You can see the expected file size of the encoded file.
Press 'Queue' and select the 'Queue' tab in the main window...
...where you can see the generated encoding steps. (waiting)
Press 'Start' and relax yourself. For this example the encoding time is about 10 minutes.
I cut out the waiting time because.... it's not very interesting ;-)
We encode our 140MB vob file to about 90MB MP4 file.
For this example you save is about 40%. With other bitrates you get smaller or bigger files - like you want. But remember, as smaller the size the quality will get waste.
