How to Connect iPhone and iPad to TV: Wireless (Apple TV, AirPlay), HDMI and VGA; Mirror iPad to TV
Connect iPad & iPhone to TV Screen wireless: Apple TV/AirPlay without cables and using HDMI/VGA cable with adapter. iPhone connects to TV pretty much in the same way you connect an iPad - if you have an Apple TV, it is exactly the same, all wirelessly using the AirPlay option. You have an iPad
and an iPhone
and “How to connect your
iOS devices to the Television?”
There are options using cables with adapters;
and without wires using Apple TV;
We will see all of them,
and recommend which one is better
depending on the situation;
There are two cable possibilities: HDMI and
VGA;
and the right adapter depends
on the model of iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch
you want to connect to the TV.
Before buying an adapter,
check for the compatibility
or ask Apple for help.
Let’s begin with HDMI
Modern TVs have several HDMI ports available,
so
pay attention which port you are connecting
to
and select the correspondent
input source on the TV Menu.
Now let’s connect an iPhone 5
to the TV using HDMI
the image magically appears!
It shows exactly what you see on the device
this is called “Mirroring”.
As the iPhone is tall, it is
not filling the whole screen…
but it’s possible to watch
videos in “Full Screen”
or even play games in “Dual Screen”,
it all depends on which app you are using.
Plug your device’s charger
in the adapter to save battery!
HDMI carries both image and sound,
and it’s available in every TV nowadays.
Just bring the adapter with you,
it’s simple and affordable.
VGA is the classic connector
for computer monitors.
It only transports video;
you need an additional
3.5mm cable for audio, so,
it gets really ‘wired’!
The big reason for buying a
VGA adapter is to connect your iPhone
and iPad to Projectors.
In many Offices and Schools, projectors are
only available with VGA cables…
and sometimes you even must
bring your own audio cable,
otherwise, no sound on your presentation.
If you are a professional or student,
the VGA adapter must be in your backpack.
The Apple TV is the solution to
connect your iPhone to TV wirelessly,
no cables! Using Wifi and
the amazing “AirPlay” technology.
The Apple TV connects to the TV
or projector using HDMI.
Configure it to use the same network
as your iOS devices and that’s it!
Anytime you are watching a video,
just hit the AirPlay icon to
watch it on the big screen!
Or you can bring up the Control Center
and use AirPlay to mirror the screen.
It works with the iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch
and even the latest Macs with OS X!
The Apple TV is the most expensive
solution of the three,
but it offers much more than
simply connecting your devices.
It is really comfortable for your home;
very engaging on the modern classroom;
and very handy in presentation rooms.
That’s it!
Post your comments or questions.

give it a “like”
and, please, share it!
Thank you for watching!
See you around in the next
