Seawolves, what is your profession?
Aooh. Aooh. Aooh.
With almost 10,000 Stony Brook students residing on campus,
Campus Residences plays a significant role in contributing to the overall student experience
both within and beyond the classroom.
Featuring 28 residences halls
and three apartment style communities on campus,
including family housing units,
in addition to our apartment style facilities
and Stony Brook South Hampton campus
and most recently at the Brookhaven Residential Village,
there are a wide range of living options available for everybody.
Staff and Campus Residences is dedicated
to helping make the residential experience
a safe, comfortable and enjoyable place to live.
With more than 240 full-time employees
assisted by almost 300 resident assistants
and more than another 500 students who work in other capacities,
there are a wealth of staff available to provide service
and assist residents in a variety of ways.
Year round, Campus Residences is hard at work
and this year is no exception.
With a new state-of-the-art
759 bed residential facility and dining hall under construction,
continued upgrades of our existing facilities,
a new room change concierge service
and the launch of the new SBU311 app
allowing you to easily submit your work order requests from your tablet or smart phone,
student life on campus is thriving
and Campus Residences is a significant contributor to these efforts.
Residents hall and apartment staff organize and present
more than 1,350 programs each year
in addition to supporting campus wide events like Homecoming,
Midnight Breakfast, Earthstock, Roth Regatta and more.
As a diverse and caring community,
Campus Residences encourages students to become involved
in community service and other engagement opportunities.
Whether it's 'Tis the Season,
a student given campaign that raised over $30,000
in support of several community assistant organizations,
our nationally recognized campus food pantry,
award-winning participation in Recycle Mania and more
there are many ways for our students
to become involved as caring members of the campus and larger community.
Campus Residents is more than just housing.
Our focus is much broader than that,
encompassing the college community and what it takes to be a Seawolf
living in Seawolves Nation.
