and in today's video we're going to show
you how to install a lollipop on the
samsung galaxy tab pro
so you want your device it looks like
this with this beautiful lollipop on it
we're going to show you how to do that
let's go do it
all right guys here you go ah this is my
samsung galaxy tab
this is the eighth . 3 inch model and
i'm going to go ahead and show you guys
how to get a lollipop on this device
well cm12 anyway so basically it's very
very simple to do this i'm going to show
you guys really quickly what device i'm
working with just because it's really
important to know
so there you go there it is this is
model number SMS - t320 and this is
android version 4.4 . - so as long as
you're sure you're running the basically
same specs you are going to need to have
root access be able to install custom
recovery and so on if you don't know how
to do any of that stuff check out my
playlist on this device every junkie com
besides that you're going to need these
two application or two files
this is the google applications is the
cm12 rom i'll give you links to those
two hours you can get the scene 12 rom
from the side in mind website Google
applications i have on my server so
we're going to go ahead and get this
installed i would highly recommend to
update your customer cover you have now
what you do to do that is you go right
here to the team win site and down the
latest tort recovery which I've actually
already done so we're going down the one
that says DD method and you click on it
and download it
I've already got on my device I'm not
too worried about I show you where it is
I'm going to update it with an app
called flash of Phi is amazing
applications require root access for it
to function but it's very easy to flash
recoveries with or update your recovery
so I'm gonna go ahead and take recovery
and i'm going to say choose a file and
i'll use their explorer and I'm just
going to go down here to storage
not sure which SD card its and I think
external not actually be in internal so
this one
downloads and right there is the latest
toward recovery which is 2.8 . 3 .
oh and it's for my device the mind ran
think that's how you spell it
say it I don't know yep i'm going to go
ahead and install it and then it's going
to give you an option right to boot
right -
recovery so i'll see ya reboot now now
go right into recovery the newest
recover i just installed and we can go
ahead and flash this rom
so you can see it says set warranty bit
recovery and it should be booting into
recovery here
there it is team win recovery and first
things first is you want to do a backup
and you swipe across let me see if I
have a backup on here i think i might
you know that's a really old backup
let's do another backup
so we'll go back up look I got plenty of
space there that's okay i'm actually set
the name of this i like to put it as
stock and I say root cause it's rooted
and then hit go and I'll swipe across
and i'll create this nandroid backup
this way if something goes wrong in the
install you're good to go
no worries and you can restore your
backup very easily
now this is pretty sweet with this new
version of tort recovery
you do have this cpu temperature in
Celsius you have your battery level
which is important to have good battery
level and then you even have right down
here
the percentage of your backup and how
it's going
which is just insanely awesome so I just
get just listed all there for you how
many files how far along you are
how much you got left to go so I mean
you can see it looks like it says I'm
about 13% done some let this thing run
will come right back to once the backups
done
all right guys there you go that is the
backup is complete
so we're just going to go back a screen
or two and now we can install seem 12
so did we are going to go to wipes and
we're just going to swipe across wipe
data/factory reset very easy to do
go back to home and we'll go to installs
and there it's actually in the right
folder
actually no it's not that's linked it's
another round I've done let's go to see
him 12 there you go
now we got it so we're going to see him
12 will click on that one
well as it will go to the lollipop
Google applications and so we get 2 of
10
there is listed swipe across and this
will install cm12 lollipop
on your samsung galaxy tab pro so very
very cool really curious to see how this
thing
boots up and runs this install will be
lightning quick because it's just that
simple the rounds already installed when
starting the Google applications as we
speak
and this thing will be ready to reboot
here in just one second
oh there it is so we're going to reboot
system and you should see your size in
mind
install logo everything coming up here
bootanimation i should say and then
what's really cool about side your mind
or some new features and cm12 that I
need to show you guys spits especially
pertaining to root axis and a lollipop
so let's set this thing boot up as soon
as it boots up and gets through the
final install our setup i should say
will show you guys seen 12 lollipop on
this device
all right here it is i did go ahead and
skip through the setup also boot up
might take you up two you know five ten
minutes depending on what's going on
your device but just be aware of that
see if this can move it doesn't that's a
widget that moves at least not yet
all right so you guys can see that there
is kind of like a shrunken down view on
this
everything seems to be a little bit
smaller even though it's on a tablet so
might be something we have to change the
DPI on to really get it to look like a
hundred percent like right because like
even this should be maybe blowing up a
little bit why have edges on it you know
what I'm saying
so there's things like that that we can
adjust but specifically want to talk
about root axis because as you can see
there's no root superuser in here
anywhere
it's like okay so where do you get root
access right
we can come in here and look and there's
no super user or supersu in here
so what you know what's the root access
situation we can even download a
download root checker and basically it's
going to tell you the device doesn't
have red axis which is just kinda hey
whatwhat's you know why not
you know San why don't we have read
texts what's what's the situation here
so i'm going to show you basically how
to turn on her taxes in cm12 so we can
verify see doesn't have root access
so we want to turn on red axis right so
to do that we're going to go into
settings about tap on the build number
about 10 times
this is going to be able two things is
going to be able performance and
developer options will go into developer
options
we're going to turn on advanced reboot
because it's fun and then we're going to
turn on
where's it at where's it at my blind
there it is root access it says disabled
so we want to turn on a TB and apps
ok now we should that should have added
this right here
privacy see it this is how you manage
your route applications now
so right here you can see this one has
some settings in there you can turn it
on granted through taxes
let's open it up again now and just to
do this we're going to talk about all of
you and hit verify root.allow boom root
access
alright so that's basically how you're
going to turn it on
you can see congratulations device
hundred access and that's how you turn
on red axis mode on this device
so other than that I mean you've seen a
little bit of it walking through it
you know this has a standard size of my
stuff and all the funding goodies you
know status bar tweaks and things like
that you can do battery bars and you
know all that fun stuff theming it's all
in here
let's go ahead and just really quickly
look through the app drawer so pretty
standard stuff and there's one app i
just downloaded otherwise you're after
is pretty basic
looks like we can do widgets and
wallpapers this way
look at wallpaper really quickly go to
see my wallpapers
yeah that was pretty cool set that one
you can see pretty simple to change
things around tweak them we can look at
widgets as well
we have pretty standard widgets nothing
really sticking out to me
nothin nothin to too terribly exciting
so if you want this on your device
that's how to do it i'm assuming that we
will show you this - about device you
can see Android version 5.0 . -
and if you click on it it will show you
the lollipop easter egg which is just
what wicked cool
and then obviously probably going to the
game built in it should yep
so there's your your little game 2 as
well I stink at this game so so it's
cool it's it's it's all in here it's all
good it's the whole package
I would mess with DPI on here and try to
find some applications that can adjust
that I'm get into settings do something
and mining and you'll be good to go
