I have a client who has requested that
this Drive be destroyed before it goes
into recycling and today we're going to
talk about how that is possible
what is the best way to do this some
people use big magnets
some people use water some people use
nuclear weapons we use our windows 8
repair tool
it's a multi-tool really to pound sledge
so let's get started shall we step one
take your hard drive and your two pound
sledge hammer outside
step two is pretty straightforward
you need to break
this thing
and you need to do it well you can also
be a great way to get some stress relief
I protection is probably a good idea

you want to make sure comprehensive want
to make sure that you get the plastic
case off of it because that's kind of
protecting this case
really where the data store the day is
stored inside of here
what you're trying to do is break the
seal
yeah
and
well that was the death blow right there
yeah
yes
all right can I didn't see but
a little see all right then that's been
it's been damaged
I could hear
all kinds of good rattling around in
there
it's hard drive is now ready to go to a
recycling and the data will never be
recovered from this oxygen and air will
infiltrate infiltrate this case and
through that steel and it will
immediately start to oxidize the plates
on the inside
what's left of them and the data is now
effectively destroyed
