quickbooks online plus provides time
tracking for any job you can track the
time for any employee or contractor as
long as the contractor has been set up
as a vendor in your company file you can
then use the time data you entered to
perform tasks like invoicing a customer
for job labor providing hours worked on
an employee's paycheck tracking the cost
of an employee's gross pay by job or
simply reporting the number of hours
worked by a person on a job or with an
item like equipment to enable time
tracking click the gear icon and select
company settings from the settings
heading this will open the settings page
click the Advanced tab at the left-hand
side of the screen and then click the
time tracking option to the right
open the Settings there are four
settings in this area
the first is a check box to add service
field to timesheets selecting this
option will allow you to specify
services performed within timesheets the
second option is a check box to add
customer field to timesheets this option
will allow you to assign a customer to
bill for each activity within the
timesheet the show building right to
users entering time checkboxes a sub
option under the ad customer field to
timesheets checkbox this option will
display the rate you charge customers
when employees or contractors are adding
time to their timesheets if you charge
different rate than you pay employees or
contractors you may want to leave this
option unchecked the final setting is a
dropdownlist that lets you set the first
day of the work week this will allow you
to assign a day of the work week as a
start day when you've made your
selections click Save to save your work
and then click done to close the page
you can enter data and quickbooks online
plus using either the weekly timesheet
page or the single time activity page if
you want to enter time for multiple jobs
or multiple days the weekly timesheet
page is the best choice if you tend to
enter a lot of detailed notes about
activities or prefer to enter time as
you complete an activity use the single
time activity page instead whichever
option you choose don't use both forms
to record the same time
input is that would cause duplicate
entries there simply to different forms
that you can use to record the same time
data also note that you can print blank
weekly timesheet to manually record
hours worked by employees or vendors on
paper which you can later transferred
into quickbooks online plus to do this
click the Create icon and select the
weekly timesheet command if needed click
the Save a new button to create a new
timesheet the default lines that appear
within the weekly timesheet page for
entry only show three lines you may want
to click the add lines button at the
bottom of the split line list to add a
full seven lines clicking the add lines
button once will add for additional
lines to this list you can now click the
print icon that appears at the top of
the list on the right hand side of the
page a printer-friendly pop-up window
will show your blank weekly timesheet as
well as your computer's print dialog box
which will automatically open you'll
simply have your employee or contractor
enter their name and the hours worked on
the lines that are available in the
blank timesheet as well as any service
performed and for which customers
this will allow you to properly enter
the information back into quickbooks
online plus while you can print the
timesheet data after it has been entered
it will only show the service item and
the total hours and amounts for the week
you can use the reports available in the
program to see more detailed timesheet
data which will be shown in a later
lesson also because quickbooks online
plus is internet-based you can set up
any number of employees or contractors
as time entry only users within the
company file they will be able to enter
their time worked from any computer any
users that are set up as time entry on
the users will not count against your 5
user limit for quickbooks online plus
