More on how to update USB drivers...
If you use a computer, you are surely to know what a USB is. USB is an abbreviation for Universal Serial Bus. Now I am sure you don't know what that means, neither did I. So basically a USB is a small drive on your computer that is capable of putting out power, receiving and sending data back and forth. So now what is so important about a USB drive? Simple, now a day's most of all your computer hardware runs on USB. That's right, if you haven't noticed, your printer, your mouse, your cell phone sync, any external items you have run on USB. Because of the simplicity of this drive, it has made it famous. So then surely you have heard of USB drivers?
USB drivers are the software behind the hardware. If you want your hardware to work correctly, you will need to download usb drivers or update usb drivers and then proceed. So how do you do this? Well it depends on what Operating system you are using. The most simple and easiest system for driver updates and downloads is Windows 7. All you have to do is plug in your hardware, and the system will automatically recognize and ask you to download the driver. But for the older systems like windows xp, well it can be a little different.
Windows xp is older, that is why it does not have a great usb drivers support like windows 7 does. If you look on older computers, you will notice there are not many USB drives, you will see around 3-4. If you look on the newer computers, you will see around 8. Because of the simplicity of the USB, every manufacturer is producing his products on this hardware. So if you are a windows xp user you will have to follow a few steps. First, figure out the name and the model number of your product. Next thing you need to do is then go to the company's website itself and trace the product in their software section. After doing so find your model number and viola download the driver. After downloading the driver, please follow the strict instructions on how to install the USB driver. Sometimes it needs you to insert the product, sometimes the product needs to be plugged in. So there you have it, next time you have a driver error, now you know what to do.

hi in this video we're going to talk a
little bit about how you can update your
USB drivers
I'm going to urge you to please watch
this video in its entirety
otherwise you may be putting your
computer at risk and that is true
now we're going to talk about his first
we're going to talk about how you can
manually update your USB drivers and
then we're going to talk about the risks
associated with a tempting manual USB
Driver updates and yes there are some
pretty serious risks we're going to talk
about that in a minute
and lastly we're going to talk about the
alternative safe and easy way to update
your drivers without risking anything at
all
ok the first thing we're going to try to
do is attempt to update a USB driver
manually now any device that plugs into
your computer's USB port is a USB device
and you will need a driver for that
device now I'm specifically going to
look for the logitech k a hundred
keyboard which is what i have on this
machine but the first thing you want to
do is open up your control panel and you
can do that by clicking start and
control panel in windows 7 and vista
now what we're going to do first of all
we're going to click on hardware and
sound and then we're going to go up here
and click on device manager
what this is going to do is it's going
to give you a list of all the hardware
you have on your machine and as soon as
this loads up i'll drag it over here for
you
you want to look for in my case I'm
going to look for keyboards you click
the little right triangle as you can see
it's the HD ID keyboard device now it's
this is what gets really confusing this
is a logitech keyboard but for some
reason it comes up as hid keyword device
keyboard device rather so i have i have
no idea why it's coming up that but what
you can do and I know my driver is out
of date because I you know they didn't
give me a disc for this keyboard to
start with and secondly i know there's a
new update today driver for this because
I've actually did some research and
found it took me a little while but when
i right click i'm going to click update
driver software and this looks actually
pretty user friendly but you're going to
see you can't really rely on and i'm
going to click search automatically for
updated update driver software update
driver software rather and so you can
see it's searching online right now
and as you can see it says the best
software for your device is already
installed now I know that's not the case
definitely not the case so what's the
other option
ok now here's the other option is to
actually go right to the manufacturer's
website and i'm going to give you this
in the example here
I'm looking for the logitech k800
wireless keyboard driver
so as you can see it it's actually very
hard to find where you get your drivers
on this particular site
what you do is you cover over to support
and then click support and downloads and
as you can see there's a there's a lot
of different options very confusing you
can either download their little thing
that detects your hardware which I found
to be kind of buggy at best you can
actually enter the model number product
name or you can sit there and and and
use these pretty hard defused drop downs
I'm just a type K hundred here and let's
see what it brings up and it brings up
to and these are identical but you know
it
how can you be sure though I'm just
going to click on this one and where is
the download downloads I guess is here
you choose your operating system windows
seven
now here's the thing is the UK there's
two things set . 6.3 logic unifying I
just want a driver
ok and there's also a lot of risks if I
download the wrong driver
so let's talk about those risks so let's
talk a little bit about the risks of
manually updating your drivers so you
know you might ask what can happen if i
try to update drivers myself
well one of the most critical things
that can happen is in fact a complete
system crash that's right
you can crash your computer if you try
to install the wrong drivers
this is an actual blue screen from a
driver issue it could have been a
corrupt driver
it could have just been an out-of-date
driver that was rolling are rolled back
the existing drive those are and i
already on the machine
I could've been a number of different
things but you can crash your computer
by installing the wrong driver and
that's the sad thing is you
no until after you've done it some of
the more minor things I column minor
which are actually fairly critical is
you can actually lose some of your
hardware functionality
now in this case you can see the nvidia
display driver which is actually the
video driver was actually incompatible
it could have been either corrupt or
maybe they rolled back to a previous
version without realizing it and you can
see that the video opengl acceleration
is disabled in order to maintain system
stability
so in fact you'd probably get some you
know maybe either blurring or just
really poor video quality some videos
may not be able to show it all in this
instance
and if we continue moving on another
risk you could have is actually failure
another hardware and that's that's true
it
you could try to update your video or
your sound card driver and actually
corrupt your printer driver a lot of
things can happen within within the
within your the window within windows
with your computer that can actually
corrupt other drivers on your system if
you if you install a bad video driver
and there's a lot of times if you have a
bad video driver you have to open your
case
unplug your video card and hopefully
plug it back in and then try to find the
right driver for because if it's plugged
in as your continued to get a blue
screen or some type of error
so you can get a lot of issues and other
hardware just by installing the wrong
driver in another piece of hardware
so one thing you can do is rely on
driver booster pro which is a hundred
percent safe
guaranteed to get safe automatic driver
updates right for other official driver
downloads right from the manufacture
it'll actually pinpoint and look at your
exact machine and give you the exact
latest drivers for your pc and all your

your drivers so no more headaches are
trying to find the drivers you need and
also again it is a hundred percent safe
and you can also approve each driver
that it finds now to download driver
boost simply go to USB . driver boost .

ok now i want to show you just how easy
it is to scan your computer for outdated
drivers with driver boost pro as you can
see the first thing it does is detect
your exact computer system in this case
i have a dell XPS dimension 630 I the
only thing you have to do is click the
Scan button and as you can see the scan
is going to start and it's going to
actually utilizing the official
manufacturer of each device on your
system is going to detect the exact
latest most up-to-date driver for every
single device that is on your exact
system and it's going to do this very
quickly as you can see it's been 16
seconds seventeen eighteen nineteen just
about 20 seconds to go through my
complete system and actually do a driver
analysis which is actually pretty unique
in the industry and as you can see here
anything with a red X is outdated
anything with the green check is ok and
as you can see my nvidia geforce 9800 GT
which is my video driver is out of date
tough data all I would do is click the
next button that's all i have to do and
as you can see anything with a green
check is ok no problem to report and as
you can see right down through here if I
keep going
my networking controller is out of date
and my realtek high definition audio
sound driver is actually a date so
and up here on this pie chart you can
see it tells me i have six seven eight
drivers and 89 up to date and that's all
there is to it with driver boost roll on
updating your drivers now to download
driver boost simply go to USB . driver
boost . com to get your download of
driver boost which will scan your system
