Web Design Tutorial - Converting JPG logo to Vector

coming up we have a technique for
converting jpg logos in vector graphics
using adobe illustrator and artist for
business owners is how to reduce

so for this tutorial I've source two
different images I've got a quite simple
black and white logo and about the
slightly more complex coca-cola logo
so when i'm doing this technique with
logos spend to get the largest file size
possible with the jpegs so all of them
is going to file and place to place my
two graphics onto the page so i can put
them in illustrator vector graphics
if we start with the simple
black-and-white layer here
all you have to do is select it and then
click on live trace
you might just see that then jumped from
being a pictographic to now a vector
shape
if i zoom into the kernel example you
still see this one is very pixelated but
now are black and white logo is now a
vector illustration
what this also does converts it into
black and whites in order to separate
the black logo from its white background
but we never want to do is go to expand
and then you want to ungroup the various
layers until the group option becomes
unavailable is well then allow you to
take the part you want away from the
white background as you see that there's
the leftover white part that we can
delete if you
a year a logo that's got slightly more
colors and you know in the example it
work some sleep better when you just got
a white background with a wooden leg on
top you can play around with the live
trace settings to achieve the result
looks as good as possible
next if we zoom it will do the coca-cola
go next as you can see still very
pixelated click on it click on live
trace and it converts logo force into
vector artwork
so again in order to separate the
various pieces to this we need to expand
and then and group layers until the
unrep option becomes unavailable like
that
so in order to turn they took a logo
back to read if we simply select the
various parts just that bit there
we can then convert it back to read
not so then we can take away from the
background you read coca-cola logo like
so and converting your pics later JPG
files and essentially means you can use
them in programs like flash red shop and
have a very high quality because that
vector but they're also a much lower
