Making An Easy Photo Calendar in Photoshop

in this video we're going to be making a
very simple calendar and I say simple
because it's only a few steps
so let's get cracking and find out how
it's done now first of all what i need
to do is go and get this bit down here
with all the days on it
I'm not going to create that in
Photoshop what I'm going to do is I'm
going to using google calendar and
Google kinda you can see it already
putting in my national holidays in I go
to another date you can see just got
Shrove Tuesday and some patrick's day
so this is why there is no template
being given away on tips world.com
because and wherever you are in the
world you're going to need different
holidays
ok also what you can do here is you can
put somebody's birthday in or an
anniversary and it will repeat and so
it's all ready for next year as well go
back to january
ok I need to grab this it's very very
simple just cove to the more and more
and then print and if I just make this
little bit smaller
you can see that I've got a save as a
button
so if i click save as it will then come
up with this show all downloads now this
depends of course on much browser you're
using i'm using chrome so you may have
to tweak this a little bit i'm gonna
show all downloads and then keep yes
definitely keep ok and there we go it's
downloaded i'm going to show you a
folder and there it is let's go back to
photoshop and then i can create a new
document file new and because i'm in the
UK i'm going to use a 4 300 pixels per
inch
okay okay i need that calendar
so let's go grab that make that a little
bit smaller and then click and drag it
across and even though it's a PDF fresh
of course will recognize it
it's that native adobe program and you
can see that I've got a representation
here
click OK and sure enough he comes
but the wrong way round not a problem
right click and rotate 90 degrees
clockwise and there we have it
I'm gonna precious shift and alt shift
to constrain the proportions and old to
transform from the center and make it
about 75 ish percent and drop it down
there we go
click the tick and I can move that into
position
roughly where I wanted there we go
that's that been done next all i need to
do is to go and get a picture to put on
here
now I've got bridge open up on another
screen so I'm going to go and grab an
image and drop it down
he says get it there we go drop my image
down and again i'm going to try to make
this roughly the same size so I pop it
in there and then zoom in and press
shift and bring that up
it matches about the size of my days
there
that's good assuming we put out and then
I can you hold down shift is going to
constrain it to a straight line - I know
that's going to be lined up reasonably
well and there that ok let's click the
tick on that one
now all our pieces are in place or very
nearly
but I've got one little problem and if i
zoom in you can see here I've got this
the shenanigans going on across the top
of the dates here and I don't really
like it
now you can see that it's a smart object
which means i could double-click it and
open it and change it but it's going to
try to open it in Illustrator which I
don't really want to do so let's do it
the easy way around
let's click on the calendar then create
a new layer the marquee around that and
on the new layer
I'm just going to press ctrl or command
backspace to fill it with my background
color which in my case is white
Trudy to de-select okay that's better
that's a zoom
how to build a game that's a bit better
if i click on my top layer and then go
and get my
horizontal type tool and click down
there and i'm going to type it can you
airy 2013 time fly and then pop that
roughly where I wanted
there we have it ok now this layer 1 i'm
going to put together with calendar say
if I thickened player 1 and then shift
and click on the kinder and then press
ctrl or command + e pops it together
sugar double click that and the entire
calendar so i know where i am and no
there we go now because I've got this
layer already highlighted
I can then shift and click on the top 10
good
now I've got all three layers selected
control or command and a will put a
marquee around the whole of our page and
then with the move tool i can click on
this icon here which will align
horizontal centers and that we sent it
to the selection as well so we now know
that they're all lined up for noise
control command D to deselect we go to
that January life and just use the arrow
key just ended up just a little bit
ok now that's looking a bit scratchy on
screen because the resolution of my
excuse me off the recording if i zoom in
you can see that it looks much better
than it does when you zoomed out
everything looks nice
I'm ready to print it off now like I say
there is no template for this because
this is going to be personal to you so
go ahead make your encounters all ready
for the upcoming new year
