welcome to computers and welcome to
another weekend workshop this is a
series where I will look at a variety of
tools woodworking machinery new tricks
tips anything that interests me really
in the world of retail building and duty
free and if that involves looking at a
little piece of Qatar gadgetry as well
as equity pads or something along those
lines or defects mental or even
something designed and built to make
learning how to play guitar easier
because in the end I Volusia not a
player can play but the reason I started
building it does because I'm not very
very good I don't think I'll ever make a
living doing it in the end I'm very glad
I made that decision but anyway today
i'm looking at the backtrack and little
box that says the ultimate mp3 backing
track pedal designed and developed by
musicians for musicians this is a very
small UK company it's one of the many
little touches or medium-sized
leadership and well I was very very
impressed by what he saw and I'll still
be interested in us to review video so
they're very kind he said just one don't

review it I'm going to look at this

instructions ok I have done just a
little bit of playing around yet quite
frankly this is pretty awesome this
really is the perfect thing for somebody
like me to learn how to play or
literally play with other people in the
bedroom or even to take out as a backing
track machine for when you get here
nobody else has done it in a pedal for
me it's it's all ways digital and that
does have some drawbacks very basically
it said of a potential but we have a
level option and that that just the
level of the backing track then you got
various different modes now the strange
thing is that he wanted while PLL most
of the first eight modes of the of the
pedal you've got
the modes here in this 12 P L
basically all the same type of thing if
you're in that mode when you get the
backing track on
push the footswitch again it opposes it
and what that basically means is you can
stop and it just keeps on going now if
you hold the fittest and 43 seconds it
goes right back to the beginning of the
track how much of this you can hear
through their support and things you
have to clear you have to hold it down
for three seconds before you move onto
another track that caused some confusion
when I started so for example and caused
it that's the next track but they have
to clear it before you move on to the
extra this is a basic and this is the
the output level this is actually quite
clear but instead of a potentiometer
which doesn't have a smooth curve
they've got a switch volume level going
through passengers or make any sense
whatsoever and it's a very nice move
responsibility now that's paused
hold it down and we
of course the whole time the guitar is
going through the through the mail so
essentially it comes loaded with a
microSD card in the idea and on that
card or 12 tracks they're not they're
not they're not bad Traxxas just a
general idea of what's happening but you
can take that microSD card out loaded up
in the provided adapter and put whatever

microwave state which is pretty awesome

the limitations of the design if it were
me I would actually have to separate

have a pool switch and combine the
functionality but I'm nitpicking it's
what I do the the pedal itself it's
clearly marked its very attractive I
love comes with 12 preloaded tracks
which you can add to completely change
very very easily and it does exactly
what it says on the tin you can use it
to get with frankly for that is
incredibly affordable it's essentially a
very straightforward very robust he may
very well wired and designed tool apart
from what is it at all I'm not a massive
fan of the backing tracks came with it a
few more than anything but that's just
me
you put your own backing track on and go
for it
technically it is amazing the there's a
slight delay for example it's going into
the pools mode she was on track seven
quarters there's a slight delay there
because this isn't a log I think that's
fine
thing is it doesn't actually adversely
affect the sound of the guitar going
through it now there is something else
that you can do and if you put a
splitter cable on this stereo output you
can have that's the out stereo output
put a splitter cable on their one going
to you're going to be a system no
problem whatsoever can also have the
external trigger basically replacing
their trips which you can put the
backtrack on a stand which they supply
and have it in front of you to do your
family run into your tracks and external
footswitch triggering your tracks I've
been looking at this from the point of
view of learning how to play or learning
in particular liquid track something
like that which is where my mind is
frankly we've been building also meet us
and i cant play them as well as more and
more tone in their fingers than I do and
I made the guitar piano
and I think this this tool is going to
help me do that however there are a
whole bunch of customers of customs of
musicians who are using this as a gig in
two things from that with all of the
inherent issues of those bring or a
rock-solid active British made very
little worried that almost sounds like a
naughty would effects pedal I like it
well there we go basically on issues I
think that as a leading to litigation
tool it's also we could make a few
changes I think with any product I ever
look at I'm gonna find to do things like
that happen to change and I think if
they put a an individual polls and
individual back function by foot switch
on there
made things slightly larger that would
be awesome but for the price and it
really is very inexpensive you cannot go
wrong but you can't go wrong option now

the entire thing actually has got to be
the font they used in this very useful
document that came with it talking about
how to use it has been designed all that
