goblins a green tide of brutal creatures
that must be stopped
hello and welcome to another total war
hammer guides today we look at the magic
users of the green-skinned army these
how quite an interesting bunch of
characters and whereas you take the
Empire magic is quite sort of sort of
normal ish for magic that you seen lots
of games to hit the green screen magic
their gods girl can walk are very
different so there's three main times
obviously glad this water who's the
legendary hero who does magic and but
these are the sort of standard hero so
first off we're gonna go from smallest
to largest this is the night goblin
Shaymin he is a night goblin so it does
allow him to go through he's obviously a
spellcaster he gets vanguard deployment
meaning he can deploy further at the
beginning of the fight so you might be
there you know deploy him it with a
small group of night goblins in hidden
away entry so maybe a flank charge or
something like that but that's really
quite useful for sort of just arranging
about it and he also does poison attacks
so a poison attack in in the game
attacks so the poisonous tax of this
unit we can the target speed and damage
whilst increasing its bigger so it's
it's it's different to the table top
game basically poison in a tabletop game
is when you're willing to wound if you
roll a six automatically wounds
regardless of the person's armor and all
that sort of stuff so that's that's
quite interesting change but it's still
quite useful and so he's got no armor
whatsoever 15 armor is pretty much
non-existent he's got a pretty poor
leadership as well
normal speed he can ride a wolf into
combat just to give them some more
mobility which might be a good idea if
you want to run around the battlefield
he does a small amount of damage for a
character 280 his attack obviously
poison which helps and he's got poor
charge bonus he's not a combat character
at all really
and so its special abilities like mr.
resistance standard vanguard deployment
which we talked about you can also hit
hide in any terrain which is really
quite useful is any little you can
probably hide behind a rock so it spells
the first one were going to look at is
sneaky stealing so it's a hex
and it's constant so it's like a passive
and it reduces the power of recharge
rate so this is a really fantastic
character if you want to have less magic
in the battle because this is for
everybody so the recharge rate of this
power is that is the magic sword of mana
is it would be in the tabletop version
and to buy the power dice so we start
with there's a total of thirty but it
recharges one every six seconds so that
will actually increase if you use it so
if you're anti-magic this is quiet
little a good guy to bring along he's
also got sneaky stabbing which casts on
the ground or in our unit illustration
is 12 seconds got really good range of
200 meters and it affects everybody
within 30 metres of that so gonna cast
it right in the middle of your battle
lines and it that it makes your your
army all those units do plus 34 damage
which is fantastic and makes them
armor-piercing which is huge if you're
going up against those armored armored
photos so that really nice spell he's
got itchy nuisance about one of them and
it's a ground or enemy target another
200 meter hex it lasted almost 30
seconds which is spectacular
it's basically reduces their damage
reduces the combat effectiveness of
close combat troops so lovely and it
effects their 30 meter range next we've
got google fix it
another hex 200-meter same again so they
will quite similar in Maine so it's not
an easy to work out and this is
fantastic to use against like army units
have nights or something anything it's
called good charge bonus because it
slows him down and it reduces their
charge bonus so that's fantastic
then we've got nightshroud only acts on
targets when in the area which is going
to be a 30 meter area and it's minus-20
accuracy and minus 24 visible range so
obviously use this on artillery or range
like missile units Bowman handguns that
sort of thing
perfect for that sources about and it's
not many spells like that in the game
that just sort of negates the power of
those those sort of units there's not
supposed to kill units but there's not
many that just sort of
you know hurt the archers so they're
basically an effective so next up we've
got vindictive glare which is a magic
missile and it's got a fantastic range
of 250 and but it's quite inaccurate
uh-huh and it's it so we look at the
effects here it's effective at close
range and it's good from a high angle so
if your uphill cause major damage and
strong versus a single combat but it's
got poor penetration which is quite
interesting so you want to use this is
against their hero characters or even
just for small units of your elite
troops but it does have poor penetration
it's not the best spell I wouldn't you
know use that in a pinch I think that
range is going to be highly inaccurate
will sort of will see that
so the next we've got curse of the bad
mood this is probably the sort of
biggest spell that the goblins have
which is a vortex bell and it does magic
damage and this is for wiping out large
units so it's a creative vortex that
lasts for 22 seconds it randomly moves
about so don't pass it to your own
troops but it's just a fantastic so this
causes magical damage strong versus
multiple units it disrupt enemy
formation because it's a vortex they're
gonna Brown and spread out and stuff so
this is really good as is that charging
in on you can do it a large moving area
of effect as we said and it basically
reduces their armor which is fantastic
that speed and they're really attack so
this is great for just as those
battlelines closed down that's when sort
of use it just before you do get into
combat
so this is wondering if they're going to
have this in the game so this is called
madcap mushrooms in his butt is an organ
in the game being reality it's an item
in the tabletop version and you can tell
yourself you basically eat one of your
magic mushrooms so it basically gives
you ability recharge rate a quicker
ability recharge rate but there is a
25-cent miscast right chance when you do
use it because you know the magic
mushrooms might stop my go wrong so it's
quite interesting ability I'm interests
or see this on it you know that I
haven't really used these too much in
combat so far so we're good
we'll see what the penalties are next
we're going to look at the Goblin great
shame and who's this or slightly
advanced he's a little bit bigger than
the night goblin there from a different
clan so we look at is so he's a
spellcaster he doesn't have the poison
attacks your Vanguard deployment but he
has 10 more armor little bit more
leadership the rest is sort of pretty
much the same we look at his spouse he's
got the same as before the all
characters get he's got snake he's
seeing him again he's got sneaky stabbed
in HD nuisance which we which we
definitely like Google fix it
nightshroud for the archer units we got
the vindictive glare and you have curse
of the bad moon the differences as well
as been a bit more survival survivor
survivor survivor three
that's not a word is it's survivable one
of them he also has standard ground
which the hero characters have so he and
this is really helpful for auction
goblins this is why overall i'd probably
take this guy over the night goblin just
because leadership is such an issue with
aux so the fact that cast on yourself
and affects all units within 40 meters
plus 16 leadership is just huge rocks
and obviously improve their damage and
attack as well so that's really nice but
that's probably the main reason i'd go
for him unless I was getting some sort
of theme to army and then next we've got
the all-cash Amon so his his spells very
difficult this is
there's there's gold can walk of the two
gods so the goblins used goal and the
all Jews mark i think yeah it's been a
while since I played the tabletop game
so he's a spellcaster being an all keys
a little bit bigger so he's got more hit
points
I'm almost 30 leadership's a little bit
more
still nothing special really opportunity
to smoke is not to combat character none
of these guys are as good as standard
character bits is what power of the wall
which is a constant buff around himself
this is basically improve that this is
if you want to use a lot of magic so
this is the opposite to the Goblin ones
whereas improves the power recharge rate
of people going to be outcasts more
bells and obviously is negated if he's
wavering because he's not he's not
concentrating on that next time we got
fists of gold which is all went 21
seconds nice to add good distance 200
meters and it's a basically above to one
of your units meaning they do more
damage a crap ton more damage really
that's a really nice spell and so you
can cost a hundred meters away which is
very nice
here we go so this is a long been
instantly effects targets in an area
which is very unusual for magic in this
game because magic seems to sort of it
gives you a indicator of where spells
gonna hit just to even out and make it a
bit less powerful whereas this is
instant and it costs on a light and
gives him just ridiculous amounts of
damage was it 58 + 58 smelly attack
that's lovely
next up we've got gaze of mark which is
an even longer range spell it's a magic
missile and it's very good versus large
characters you know the the heroes of
other armies is not sort of ability i
would you too much i think there's
others better ones in his repertoire
next up we got brain blaster which is an
explosion
it's very short-range any 75 minutes in
sm x minute 75 meters it targets the
ground rather than a unit and it
basically causes an eruption explosion
out of the ground ground and this is the
all shaman's way of dealing with larger
units so very very good it doesn't do
much is no sort of armor penetration or
anything like that and not very good
against the you know heavily armored
targets but very very good against units
of those Spearman the men arms all that
sort of units is just perfect
headbutt is a breath weapon which are
not seen him in New York so far his last
27 seconds and its really good as the
enemy basically is about to charge
hundred and fifty meters way you talk at
the ground it disrupt enemy formations
just because they scatter everywhere and
again it's very good against on large
units it's perfect and they're basically
goes out in it it says expanding
t-shaped attack almost like something of
a flamethrower type thing just a big
wolf out from his
breath from his mouth I guess huh
and lastly thought of gases in the
tabletop version this was my single
favorite spell in the game and it makes
explosion it lasts for 10 seconds is 200
meters you target the ground and it
basically implants the shape of a giant
footage the foot of the God Gork and
it's brought lands on the ground and
does damage and disrupt the enemy
formation wherever it hits a good
against big units . last 10 seconds so
the foot will randomly move almost like
the vortex spells we've seen before
it's a brilliant fun spell to you so we
can have a quick look into combat now
we'll get them will cast a few spells
and so in on the hall skirmish game a
couple of empire units so we'll start
with i think the let's go with the night
goblin shaming your first up will just
choose one assembly spells will just
choose one spell of each do we want to
go for the curse of the bad moon is one
of my favorite spells obviously quite
short range
if you just want to cancel the spell by
the way if you get obvious our range
that he's running into range to cast it
now if you just click like to move
elsewhere

obviously these are not combat
characters if they get into combat on
the road they are slaughtered they got
low morale it's not very helpful
yes let's yeah we got to a cursor to bad
moon it's quite short range so we were
there at the moment they were just loves
it there is I think they're gonna start
closing in for you will probably will
get an archery range if to cast this but
it's only a test the way to use these
guys is as mainly sort of frontline
troops here we go oh they're not moving
so that's that's useful i thought i'd
come again there is
and as you can see it's scattering
people about it's doing a ton of damage
especially to this unit they've lost
half their troops and he's wandering off
in a random direction as amazing that
spell effect is really really good and
as i said yes i would use these in your
main battle line you don't want to mount
on the room because they will get
stomped off you might want to look a
little like government same interest in
it some hidden in some trees somewhere
just to do something could be unusual if
you have part of a larger plan let's go
go for the football could me but you you
know they do give bonuses to your troops
so use them part of your main battle
line just off the front don't get
involved in combat unless you absolutely
have to kind of don't have her here we
go there is no foot disappointing I kind
of missed a lot of people there
wait for it right what we're gonna go
for we can't use the curse em it she
knew since I just want two god cards
that does that for funsies
yeah let's go 480 Newtons is probably
the most exciting Spencer this is cost
on the ground or or clicks two units so
we're going to cost of doing it have its
uses
so it doesn't do damage
they go and all units within 30 meters
so that's that's the spell effect there
so these are now massively d buffed for
the next of what was it
29 seconds that's fantastic swell so
they go there is an example of some of
