Using hamster balls as their racing vehicles, the furry racers competed for the title of their community's fastest. Nearly 34,000 family members and hamster fans joined in and cheered on their favorite competitors.

PETCO holds the annual event to celebrate the human-animal bond and to create an opportunity for hamster-loving families to come together for an afternoon of fun and light exercise.

well today is our annual hamster ball
derby here in pathway we got looking to
have around 20 participants today and
you can see behind me we have our track
set up and real exciting time for our
small animal customers
she did last year when she was a little
baby and i figured i found out about it
when we came to buy her treats and
bedding a beautiful for so we'll set it
up and it's just like our college
basketball tournament bracket so the
heater for Weber winds will move on to
the to a racquet and then they'll play
the the winter Pete number two and it's
a 1 is 0 and then eventually we'll get
our our champion
yeah
what I didn't know what to expect but
then when my son's hamster started well
we're gonna be excited
she won the hamster ball derby

around the house

I really hope that she would at least
take a place and I'm gonna shit
I love working this event it's
especially you know seeing all the
smiles on the kids faces funny and it's
just all it which is fine
