Excel Formula SUM ( How to add in Excel )

In this tutorial it is described how to add numbers in Excel. An excel formula SUM is used to add numbers. Also there are two other ways are shown for addition in Microsoft Excel. At the end I have shown a common issue while adding numbers and the resolution for the same with a good example.

hope you are doing pretty good i'm back
again with another microsoft excel
tutorial today we are going to see how
to add numbers in excel we are going to
use one of the basic excel formula some
to add numbers here i have push its of
numbers in one actual file I'm going to
show three different ways we can add
numbers the last set of numbers are to
show a common problem while adding
numbers and how to overcome that problem
let's have a look at option one to add
numbers it's very easy just select the
range of numbers you want to add and go
to the auto shop option and at the
editing section and click on that and
the result will be displayed in the next
available failed after the selected
range let me show you what I meant by
next a bailable self with an example
suppose here i have three numbers and i
want to add first number and i selected
those and clicked on the auto sham the
result will be displayed after the card
number
even though we are adding these two
number so the result of first two number
will not override the third number a hab
so the next available sale is this one
she picked in where the result is being
placed let's have a look at the second
option here we will try to build up
formula using a straightforward approach
go to the sale where we want to
submission to be calculated and
double-click on that sale or place up to
show that we can type inside the cell
and then hit equals to whenever we put
equals 2 in Excel sale it considered as
if we are trying to put a function or
formula so now what we'll do is click on
the first number as you can see that
it's six is being selected then we will
c plus then the second number as you can
see that ape seven is selected then plus
the third number
similarly plus and a port number when
all the numbers are selected hit enter
and here we have the summation of all
the four numbers we have okay option 3
we will go to the sale where we want the
result and then we will double click or
will press ape to show that we can type
inside the sale here what we will do is
we will try to put the sum function men
really like i'll say equals then i'll
type is you aim and you can see that all
the available functions are displayed in
a drop down here I'll put a bracket and
then i'll take my caution and select the
range of numbers we want to add and then
I'll close the bracket and then hit
enter and here we go now let's try to
add the fourth set of numbers i have
here I'll go to the field
will type in the sum function start
bracket select the range of numbers i
want to add closed bracket hit enter got
result as zero but this is not what I'm
expecting so what happened
the problem is that the numbers i have
selected to add are not numbers let's
select any of the numbers and check the
perimeter of the sale and it is a text
format and a little green corner is
indicating the same problem with this
number
so how can we solve this problem
select a range of numbers we want to
correct and one small window will be
coming over here with some option click
on that little Arrowhead and convert to
number and here we go we have the result
